Hopefully this is just a case of the monthly sweeps by both LE and Media to end in the high note.
This place is close by and I didn't know it existed. Just moved to the area. Hopefully I can find something else equally close.

Most likely the supreme irony with this is that the publicly punitive are often the biggest participants behind closed doors, Eliot Spitzer being one prime example, along with Jimmy Swaggart many years back. And do these so-called Christian nut jobs fully realize that their supposed hero was really a long-haired, radical, socialist Jew who preached peace and compassion, everything contrary to what they claim to stand for?
This with the policies, or loudest voices are usually doing it out of their own guilt, but most likely b / c they feel paranoid about it and try to throw people off the scent. Fwiw, Spitzer is Jewish, and Jesus was not a Socialist. Jesus never advocated for government distribution to take care of the poor (or collectivism / communism for that matter). He advocated for individuals to take individual responsibility, and if one was able, it was up to the individual to do their individual part to take care of the less fortunate. There is no virtue or morality in being generous and charitable if it happens through government confiscation and force. That by definition is neither charitable or generous. The individual must make the decision and sacrifice to help others.
With that said, your point is correct. The loudest voices in cracking down are usually the biggest offenders. Just like the guy on Facebook who posts how much he lives his wife etc. Then you find out later he was banging some slur on the side.

Careful now. You don't want to upset fellow members of the board who happen to have a more conservative steak.
I know LOL! Leftists never upset me though. They just can't help themselves injecting politics into everything, even here.

Yep, the biggest hypocrites usually have the loudest voices.

With that support, the government will focus on ways it can profit from it (taxation), then we'll likely see legalization (much like with gambling and marijuana).

Actually, there's a squeeze from both sides according to various social workers I have talked with. Conservatives are busy policing everybody's bodies except their own. And liberals are busy catching everyone in a trafficking net, not able to identify the various reasons people do sex work. Because Chicago is a more liberal city, the social workers tell me that the liberals are the worst here. The only thing we can hope is that gambling and weed aren't bringing in enough tax dollars for these idiot politicians to pay all their friends, they don't want to keep raising property taxes, so legalized sex work is seen as another way to fatten the tax base.

Kinda curious as to whether you all think we'll ever see legalization of sex work. Now that gambling is nearly everywhere with marijuana closing in, why isn't this domino falling as well?

I don't know about that. I think as long as some boy haircut with hornrim glasses feminist lesbian authors the legislation it will go well. Finally I could support something from the left.

It might one day, but I'd be surprised because an introduction or some support of a corresponding bill would be hard to explain to significant ones.
