Many down there were and in many cases still are in those hotel bars downtown looking for a stepping stone or to land a sugar daddy that is willing to pay for their lifestyle. For me listening to someone tell me how she was going to remodel her downtown kitchen and this and that and that and this is just way over the top boring. Now do I miss that vibe of looking at women all dressed up head to toe to walk down the street just to go to the seven eleven or jewel? Yea as I still see it all when I go pickup my mail at the post office downtown. That was and is all over the west loop these days as well. If one is willing to keep telling a beautiful woman how beautiful she is and that the entire world revolves around her then yea that is for you! If not then for me it all got very tiring and boring. It's worse on the east and west coast BTW imo. We are still a little cowtown in many ways. Mc stosh. All I know which as usual is very little. The time change kinda threw me off so it's off to the bike trails shortly from my little village near the big airport. And happy I might add. Don't miss anything about that scene! Well almost anything. Still love the reverse triangle!

And you are spot on, mr. Melrose. My era was early 2000's so like 02 for a couple of years after. Not sure if the original post was referring to reddit or the triangle. Anyway after I got done making the rounds at my accounts in the evening I would head down there in a nice ride and a suit since I was dressed like that anyway for my business. I would park on the south end and work my way up so ditkas, one other place up on rush and then into the triangle of gibsons, rush street tavern, irish place just north of division on state on the west side mc something or some irish name and then back down on division to that small place that had a 4 o'clock. I would see the same tired people looking to get laid. Big airline pilot and admin clientele and actually many lived in those high rises over on la salle so they could crawl their way home using the curb as a guide. From what I understand these days the west loop so like randolph west of halsted to say ada is the new area for hang outs for the people with cash to spend. Don't know if that is more a dating area or pickup or both. Sold my crib down there in 2017 or so and haven't really spent any time there since. All of that was just starting to happen when I bought in 06. Spent many a night though in the triangle.

Pretty much true from the 80's until the covid, I haven't been that way in years at night. Everything from young girls with fake I'd's to hardened hookers would get dressed to the hilt fishing for a SD or an invite to a day on a boat. I suspect the SD sites have changed the game.
