The owner of Angelli's / ECE was arrested on the 19th of November. They have him on sex work and laundering charges. His court date is the 20th of December. He was working closely with MCE and I spoke with a former provider of his and learned that a few girls were approached by detectives already.

Now, the vast majority of the escorts they encounter are of legal age, independent and doing this of their own free will. She told me a guy came to her hotel room downtown who had been cleared by room service. Did the deed and spent about 90 minutes with her and then busted her. They confiscated her phone, her laptop and about $1200 in cash. She called me asking for a referral to a criminal defense attorney which I gave her. Later on, she related that the charges were dismissed, she never got her phone or her cash back. I think most of all, she was offended that the cop banged the hell out of her before busting her.

Yeah, it's tempting to think of L E as crime reduction and there is an aspect of their role but the blue are around mostly for revenue generation. Just a few weeks ago was in a hick town with no street lighting no signage, got pulled over and slapped with a ticket because I failed to signal a turn in time. It's like the cop was literally a troll collecting bridge money. "Do you know why I pulled you over?" "Um, because your city has no internal economic engine?

Also, I read this quote from the Time article makes no sense and felt embarrassed for the author:

Like if you go to the store and buy a loaf of bread are you accused of thinking you are owed? Does the author not understand what a financial transaction is? Christ.

Why I pulled you over? My answer for the last 51 plus years- absolutely no clue, officer. Of course most all fuzz especially in our burbs around here are trolling for driving infractions. Cpd tends to not get too involved in all of that unless you are really f**king up. Been my experience anyway. And as far as the altruistic attitude that they are on the job to improve the community and to see that justice is served is complete bs, imo. All the cops I met in chi mostly in 1 or 12 would tell me that no one wants to be a cop any longer. The money is great, ditto the benifits and pension and if a guy or gal went in early they can get out early and still have a decent life left. Also I have met few cops or fire guys that don't have a side cash job. They know in advance where they will be and when as it's all in their union contract.
