I feel a little bad for the kid because I waited a long time before I finally took the plunge because I was worried about getting ripped off. At that point you can even get a unique area code from wherever they have service (everywhere). In the past I have said vegas, so cal, et al. Then find any local business of the thousands that are scattered everywhere that offer free\open wifi to their customers, park somewhere in their parking lot out of the way and use their free wifi and your tablet to activate your phone with bogus data (bogus name\bogus address\hobby email\etc.). I am a simple mobile man myself and got my sim for cash as well as my first several refill cards for $40 + taxes and activation in cash always from dollar general, then target and now family dollar. What I did not do in hindsight is I used my regular computer on my own private hotspot data to register the account and then used an alternate email, name, et al. So sorry for my second post so quickly. However, totally agree. That line that uncle uses needs to be much more defined because in many instances unlike this one it is not trafficking and is consensual by all parties. Politicos know all of the buzz words to use to get attention from the "woke" people who will just glance at a situation without doing the deep dive. One of the reasons I really would like to know more details about the lake county sting that is listed here as well. I like to read between the lines and do some research.
