Tax dollars wasted and spent. Thanks Keith.

Some of the providers have no local address. So, they are homeless. Homeless people don't get arrested.

I'd say decriminalize it but I know the state would fuck it up.

You are correct, though they are currently likely going to implement hardware presets like other states, meaning that if they go that route, all you need to do is buy a computer out of state and they can't do anything.
Why do you think they are going after guns so hard as well? Hard to fight back if we don't have the means to. This is literally the dumbest legislative session I have seen to date.
The cops love the gun laws here. Makes their life easy. I got to question their legality, though. But it was never in the interest of the monarchs who ran the kingdom, the businessmen who overthrew the monarchs and the state to have an armed populace. It's always been about a top-down power relationship here.
Also, isn't this funny? Ige signed an executive order to support net neutrality to the month last year.
https://governor.hawaii.gov/newsroom...ity-in-hawaii/
From the press release: "Net neutrality bans paid prioritization of content that is seen on the internet; bans filtering or blocking of content, thus ensuring consumers unfettered access to any lawful content on the internet; and bans throttling of internet speeds for accessing certain content, which would have the same effect as blocking content. ".
Last time I checked, this site and porn sites in general were legal.

Yeah but apparently that weed can only be bought from a dispensary, which there's only two of in each county, and charged with fees and additional taxes.
This state is so fucked.

Completely agree. I would assume this law would put the responsibility of filtering that content on ISPs, who pass on any costs (and I'm sure there would be a lot of them) to the consumer.
I would also guess that whatever filtering is put it in place, it would easily be bypassed by a VPN. (Assuming it passes the subsequent lawsuits, which I would agree with you, would be an uphill fight.). 🤤.

On a serious note, this legislature seems to be in a tear of proposing stupid, intrusive laws this session.
In addition to the "porn tax":
Another representative wants to raise the minimum age of buying cigarettes to 100 to effectively end cigarette sales in Hawaii.
Oh, and they're also trying to ban flavored vape juice, because kids like the candy flavors.
And I'm willing to bet that marijuana legalization bill is going to make it damn near impossible for anyone who's not a millionaire to open a shop or grow.
I don't smoke cigarettes. I don't vape. I don't smoke pot that often. I'm not some libertarian waving a "Don't tread on me" flag in one hand and a copy of "Atlas Shrugged" in the other..

But goddamn it, these politicians seem really comfortable making stupid laws while not addressing basic priorities like doing something about the rent that's too damn high.

Background is they are attempting to force people to pay $20 for EVERY porn / sex / provider related site one wishes to visit and use (likely to include USA-SG), in order to fund a program to support "victims of sex crimes" and combat child porn and human trafficking.
Its a money grab, plain and simple. Every piece of legislation related to trafficking has done nothing but make it harder and more unsafe for those who work in the field. When in Germany after they leglized providing services, my whooe perspective changed as providers now had occupational rights and protections for their job, to include healthcare. Hawaii should follow suit to help protect our girls, but instead pushes nonsense like this that causes more harm to everyone.
Fortunately, this is being viewed as extremely unconstitutional, but it could affect us for years until it is struct down by the higher federal courts.

If it does pass, I'll open a church in which porn is considered a sacriment. Worked for peyote and pot.

If you're serious, the trade organization for the adult industry is the Free Speech Coalition. Porn stars have testified in California against the mandatory condom law that passed in LA (but no one enforces), and were interviewed when the backers of the condom law tried to take it statewide.
