Was watching ESPN on Friday and had women's gymnastics on. Was US vs World, been hooked ever since I saw Katelyn Ohashi perform. As luck would have it, she performed at the end. She was simply Awesome! Found out she goin be in ESPN the magazines body issue. Went Barnes & Nobles last night to see if had the issue. No dice. Anyone know if or when coming out? March, April, June, August. Almost 40 get indicted of felony.

Trial doesn't mean sentencing. More hearings and trials for months or years.

Dream spa case didn't finish yet. Gogo spa case same, still ongoing. A few indicted last August still go to court.

It is not traffic ticket case.

If someone in law can discuss, I'm just curious about why and how these places keep opening up (Ume) especially in light of the circumstances.

It seems the doom and gloom is just a lot of hype or is it real? Doesn't seem like it is with the owners of these places that keep coming back. Not that I'm complaining but I'm just real curious how this whacky law works when no one really seems all that intimidated.

Actually I would disagree that pimps pay there way to get exempted from LE busts. It's far easier to show progress on rooting out prostitution by going after low hanging fruit like massage parlors. They are easily accessible, open, easy to monitor, and may have workers who can't legally work in the US. Thus federal customs and border protection resources can be tapped.

I'm sure that LE would love to bust pimps but that network is more difficult to infiltrate. Plus with asset forfeiture laws as they are currently written, LE can seize money and property they suspect was obtained or used in illegal activity. AMP raids are cost-effective than busting individual pimps.

We mongers may argue that it's consensual activity between adults, but it's still illegal in Hawaii to pay for sex. And, if I am reading my calendar correctly, next year is an election year. Expect more "tough on crime" actions next year, not less. It's happening nationwide. In Hawaii, we are a small community with less options, so these raids are more noticeable. Keep your fingers crossed that 2021 is a better year for mongering.

Almost no screening (not anymore) so any informants go and say bullshit while recorder operating. No name change, just make an appointment and see her while hidden camera catch how she looks. Most workers are green card holder with kids. One sentence convicted one with morality crime can be reported to ice. Easy to get help.
