This might be true if they wanted to actually take you through a jury trial. Which is a thing of the past. One of the parts of the constitution that's been dead awhile now.

Smearing someone's name with "human trafficking" (especially given that media coverage almost always mentions kids when they mention it), costing them a shit ton in money in a divorce, losing a job. Those are all things that can happen without an actual conviction, or even an indictment. The numbers vary a bit, but most people don't get a jury trial even past an indictment. They plead because their PD tells them to, or they see how much it would cost them in lawyer's fees.

I don't think I would be losing much sleep if I had been a client of theirs (I wasn't), but when people start talking about the shit that actually gets you convicted, I have to laugh (sadly) a little, because it's rarely relevant these days. Now, whether LEO will or should bother, that's another issue entirely.

I am pretty sure the Deerwood gate folks have a list of those who visited that address. Not sure how detailed the info is. In some places, the resident merely has to call and say "So and so is coming let him in" but other places like Queens Harbor, for example, scan your drivers license. Perhaps someone here from Deerwood can elaborate on their process.
