I wouldn't be surprised if he made that up, so that he doesn't have to pay full restitution. In all embezzlement cases you have to pay restitution.

You can't pay it back if you already spend it. But he probably has it stash somewhere hidden.

In the old days, the primary opiate used was heroin. An addict usually needed two shots a day to stay even. Not great, but enough that an addict could be functional throughout the day.

But now the major opiate on the streets in fentanyl. A stronger high, but shorter rate of efficacy. You need as many as 6 shots a day to stay even. So you have to stay by your dealer. If you have to earn to use, there's more pressure on you to earn quickly before you need the next hit. Even worse than before, the addict's life is nothing but getting shot after shot and earning as quickly as possible before you need that next hit.

And that doesn't even factor in the issue of overdosing and Narcan.

Every hobbyist should read that article.

Man, 2 women shot after argument outside Argyle Forest Red Roof Inn, JSO says.

Three people were hospitalized early Saturday morning after a shooting in Argyle Forest, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The shooting occurred in the parking lot of near the Red Roof Inn on Youngerman Circle around 3:45 am, according to JSO. Officials said one man and two women were shot.

An investigation found that an argument took place and shortly thereafter, the shooting occurred, JSO said.

Two people were taken to the hospital by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, and one person was taken by Clay County Fire and Rescue, according to JFRD.

All three people had non-life-threatening injuries, according to JSO.

As detectives continue to investigate, anyone with information about the case is asked to contact JSO by calling 904-630-0500 or emailing JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 1-866-845-TIPS (8477).
