Do you think the powers that be think things through? The first person to know where to find a working girl is always the drug dealer. So now the girls will have to work through the streets, pimps, escort agencies etc. I am guessing local PD's did not get a heads up to staff up their vice squads. So now instead of monitoring and policing one or 2 venues LEO is going to have to police every hotel, dealer, street corner and back alley.

With Back Page gone, TER blocking the US and Craig's List blocking the personals, I wonder if old sites like Big Doggie and Eros won't start picking up business from the ladies and traffic from the hobbyists. Big Dog was a target of LE back in the early 2000's and has very little activity now. Wonder if LE has forgotten about Big Dog. I also wonder if USA Classified might become a target in the future.

This is crazy and also TER has been shutdown and they aren't even located inside the US! Looks like in due time more of these type of sites are slowly going to get shut down. The only good I could possibly see coming from this, is women hurting so much from lack of business will lead to much cheaper rates. But will be very hard to keep us safe if were not able to share info.

The ladies had to pay to post ads on Backpage. After all the banks boycotted Backpage a while back, gift cards became the monetary medium. The ladies would buy one of several eligible gift cards ($50 minimum) and upload it to their account. Then, each time they posted an ad, the cost of the ad was deducted from their account. Unfortunately, ladies who recently purchased and uploaded a $50 gift card are SOL because that money is gone.

Politics aside, this is devastating for the girls that depend on BP to make a living. While there are instances of underage sex trafficking, the vast majority of the girls are over 18 and use this hobby to pay their bills.

Worse, this is sloppy police work that sets a precedent. "Since we don't know how to apprehend the real criminals, we've decided to shut down the entire medium". The FBI's annual budget is $8. 77 billion, which apparently is not enough to apprehend the small percentage of criminals on BP.

If CL and BP are shut down, then STG, TER and USA can't be far behind. This is scary, and goes beyond political affiliations.

Well I'm pretty sure a percentage of members here are responsible if they voted for the Orange Baboon carnival Kawker this is the way to make America Great Again. An Attorney General who wishes America could go back to the good old days when colored folks knew their place and which water fountain to use. I do t know about anyone else but I've been winning so much I'm tired of it. 1st Ammendment? Oh just a suggestion it only applies to Fox News and One America News, anything contrary to facts is fake.

It passed the senate 97-2 and the house 388-25. More Republicans voted against it than Democrats. Don't start a liberal / conservative battle.
