Hey, sorry abut your bad experience! A few pointers for others reading the threads.

1. Never give any money upfront! PERIOD. I don't care what excuses the person gives, just don't do it. There are ways one can avoid this and still get the date done.

2. Sounds like there was a dude involved too? If there is more than one person in the room and / or especially any signs of a handler, boyfriend, cousin, etc. The date is over! Text them and apologize politely and tell them you were not comfortable with XYZ. The only reason these scams keep going is that dudes keep falling for them. What if the dude was UCLE? That would be a cheaper & easier way to make quota- no room cost, no decoy at risk and much lower manpower required.

3. Why are you concerned that "they didn't trust me" or wanted to verify you? Huh? The only place where one might go through a "verification process" is at one of the TOP level AMPs or Agencies that have a track record. Not some listing on STG. Being concerned like that is blaming the victim, YOU! Suggest adjusting that view point or one is likely vulnerable in the future.

Sorry to be so harsh in a reply. I know most do not read the threads any further than their post and the replies to it. It is a shame as there is info here and rules on how to hobby as to avoid situations like these. I have always said, two ways to learn, book learning or "experiential learning" (making mistakes). The former is boring but it is lost costly, safer and less likely to negatively impact one's resume.
