Are you using it on an Android? Android is provided free to device builders, Google collects a ton of info via the OS to pay for it, most transparent and not accessible to the user.

I use Google Voice but I have that associated to a private account that functions only for the nefarious. Maybe some digital trail leads back to me but that would take more than a court order to really get anything useful. With all google services, you need to turn off the various history / locational stuff to better protect yourself.
