When it comes to languages, Chinese to English and vice versa is horrible.

This is why you have all those weird messed up translations.

I've tried to have the girls speak into the app, but it rarely works. Various factors such as voice volume, intonation, and regional accents throw Google translate off.

I just have them type it in instead of speaking.

Sentences and phrases are too ambitious. Translating single English words should be decent. But a new fresh voice and very few words will be hard to recognize correctly. GA needed to be trained just to recognize the words better.

Did any of you try the Google translator app? If you set it up for voice and start, it will detect spoken English or Chinese and repeat in the other language.
