I'm late reporting this but it's still worth sharing.

Last fall, I made an appointment with Trinity ("Kaye" as she then called herself). Think her full name may be "Sarah Kaye" but who really cares? Was at the time a UTR recommendation by a reliable monger. When I contacted her, she had just moved to an Eastgate area apartment. She communicated well and seemed ok so I made an appointment for later in the week.

Sometime before the appointment, she sent me a series of texts, complete with gory pics and video, describing how her abusive ex-BF (father of her infant son) had broken into her apartment and beaten the hell out of her. I have no reason to doubt this: the facial bruises and blood dripping from her nose appeared disturbingly real.

I think this is the worst review of her I've ever seen, but I also don't think I've ever seen a good one. She's leveled up from simply being "not worth your time" to now being flat out "bad for business". While the abuse is sad and she's probably telling the truth, don't be the monger she turns to for help. Don't see her.

First, sorry it happened to you. It sucks but in my book this isn't so much a ripoff as it is a lesson in not advancing payments, paying deposits or trusting anything a provider tells you. I can well imagine that 90% of this board has done something similar in our mongering career but if we're smart, we only make that mistake once.

At this point in my mongering career, I am so jaded that I don't believe a single word the provider tells me much less take an action based on the veracity of what they say. It really comes down to this, we are in the hobby to get what we want and the providers will play along for the payday. But once the money is in hand, all bets are off. Buckle up, it's a lesson learned and your goal is to never let it happen again.
