"The defendant is charged under Penal Code Section 647(b) with engaging in an act of prostitution."

The punishment in California for engaging in prostitution can include probation, fines and up to a year of county jail. Conviction for a second offense carries a minimum 45 days in jail, 90 days for a third offense.

Better luck find a good attorney that specialized in this area that can argue against the pigs.

Twenty-one people, including several alleged prostitutes and customers, were arrested on suspicion of operating or working at brothels in Moreno Valley, a sheriff's sergeant said today.

Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Zachary Hall said the arrests also included a manager and security personnel from three brothels. All were arrested as the result of a months-long investigation into houses of prostitution within city limits, Hall said.

``It took us a lot of time to find the brothels and infiltrate them,'' Hall said, adding that the sting also targeted several massage parlors.

Hall said an undercover deputy posed as a masseuse looking for work and
a local brothel manager convinced her to work as a prostitute instead. Hall added that the manager promised the deputy large amounts of money and a higher
quality of life.

During the operation, another undercover deputy met with a brothel manager and was introduced to several girls. After paying the manager a fee, he was allowed to choose a prostitute, the sergeant said.

After the deal was made, deputies swarmed the brothel and arrested everyone inside, he said. The deputies ran the brothel for several hours and arrested 15 people, according to Hall.

The sergeant said five of the people were arrested for knowingly purchasing a 15-year-old girl for sexual purposes.

One of the brothels was concealed inside a dry cleaning business and another was operating out of a single-family home in a residential neighborhood, Hall said.

The services of the brothels were advertised in the Pennysaver, the Comunidad Latina Magazine and on several social networking sites on the Internet, according to Hall.

Deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station conducted directed enforcement targeting “Out Call” Prostitution. Deputies perused Internet sites where subjects solicit sexual favors for money. Deputies randomly called male and female subjects with telephone numbers provided on the websites. After an agreement for specific services was reached, the subjects arrived at a pre-designated location. Once they arrived they were arrested for solicitation of prostitution and/or a variation of other charges. During this program five people were arrested and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center:

* XXXXXXXXXXXX of San Diego was arrested for 647 (b) P.C. – Solicitation of Prostitution.
* XXXXXXXXXXXX of Chino was arrested for 647 (b) – Solicitation of Prostitution.
* XXXXXXXXXXXX of Ontario was arrested for 647 (b) P.C. – Solicitation of Prostitution.
* XXXXXXXXXXXX of Menifee was arrested for 647 (b) P.C. – Solicitation of Prostitution.
* XXXXXXXXXXXX of Lake Elsinore was arrested for a Misdemeanor Warrant for driving with a suspended driver's license.

MURRIETA -- A prostitution sting by Murrieta police netted four employees of two different Murrieta massage parlors.

The sting sting operation was carried out in response to complaints alleging illegal activity at the establishments.

Undercover officers conducted the sting Thursday morning with the Murrieta Police Department's Special Enforcement Team.

The sting targeted New Life Massage at 41539 Kalmia Street and King Massage at 40250 Murrieta Hot Springs Road, according to police.

During a visit to New Life Massage, an officer was allegedly solicited for a sex act by Yan Xia Yin, 48, of Los Angeles. The woman was arrested, and the manager of the business, Xiuzhu "Judy" Pan, 45, of San Gabriel, was also arrested for alleged municipal code and probation violations.

Later, an undercover officer went to King Massage, where he was allegedly solicited by massage technician and on-site manager Song Zhu Piao, 46, of Temecula, who was arrested on suspicion of prostitution.

The owner of King Massage, Chang Hu Zhao, 46, of Temecula, arrived at the location during the sting and was cited for "several municipal code violations, including allowing unlawful activity to occur at the business.

According to authorities, the sting was organized after the police department received "specific and independent complaints" alleging prostitution at the massage parlors.
