I mentioned several times now that I would prefer that voters post their selections here in my thread rather than PMing me, because it tends to fill up my mailbox. However, votes continue to come in by PM. I appreciate your interest in my contest and your votes, but I still would like that you make your preferences known here openly in my thread. I felt in a quandary over whether or not to even count the PM votes, but I started to count them initially and I don't want to squash interest in the contest, so I will continue to try to keep my mailbox clear and accept PM votes. But, I still wish that you would vote here openly in my thread.

I made an administrative decision that the overall winner of the contest cannot also be named for first place in any of the sub-contests. Also, a girl can only win in one contest category, the one she received the most votes for. I don't want just one girl to sweep many areas of the contest. The intention of having the sub-contest categories was to provide for as many different and varied winners as possible.

Just so you know the current status of the voting:

Overall Best SW for 2010: early on, Aundrea had what appeared to be an insurmountable lead; however, there has been a recent virtual avalanche of PM voting for Champagne for the overall title as well as several other categories in the contest; as I explained, a girl can only win in one category of the contest, so the first award for a girl will go to the category where she received the most votes. If another girl exceeds her votes in that category then she is still eligible to win in another category where she has accumulated the most votes.

Rancorous exchanges are an occasional diversionary feature of these (and all boards). Egos on both sides, for what ever reason, get inflamed, and flame throwing ensues. (All posters who have been around for a while, especially those who have achieved a certain level of recognition / notoriety on the board, can be targets of complaints and attacks over the years, including yours truly. My past reaction and the resulting elevated blood pressure and anger quotient consumed me for a little while. But these are hardly the moments of which I am most proud.

To Davey: Let it be... If you must respond, take it to PM instead making a public display of your hostility. Public attacks intended to humiliate only lead to escalation and increased acrimony. The board does NOT benefit from these attacks.

SE: let your work speak for you. Don't rise to the bait. Deep breath and step away. Clearly your pix are your own, not ripped off. Let others respond if they must, but even defenses by others fan the flames.

Both of you have long records of valuable contributions to the boards. We are grateful for them. But these rancorous exchanges often lead to MAD (mutually assured destruction), where no one comes out looking good.

I don't remember that being the pic policy here. Where exactly is it in the rules? I can quote posters in the Philly area threads who have admitted that the girl asked them not to post and they posted pics anyway.
