The way that camera "red-eye reduction" works is to give a preliminary flash. There is then a pause during which the pupils constrict, then another flash when the picture is taken. Red eye only happens when the pupils are dilated.

As simple as my point and shoot camera is, I have a red eye reduction feature on it, but I rarely use it, and I almost never get any red eye effects. You tend to get this effect when the environment is very dark, because the light of the flash is reflecting from the retina, which is covered with tiny blood vessels. The more open the pupils are, the more red eye effect you get in your photos. Red eye is more pronounced in people with light eye color. It is also more pronounced in people with blond or light-red hair and in children. With the pinpoint pupils of opiate users, it is MUCH less of a problem. With crack users, the red eye effect would be much more evident.

Most mongers will not use the red-eye because of the attention it attracts, especially when on a car date. But your are correct. If the monger is using red-eye reduction (not too likely unless the date is inside.) then pinpoint pupils are possible.

On car dates I don't use my flash for pics at all. During the day there is more than enough natural light for a pics, and at night you may as well just direct LE to you with an air raid siren. Even during the day the brilliance of a flash can be seen for a long distance. All of my flash pics are indoors. Even during the day indoors I let many of the lights on in the room. That tends to prevent stark shadows from the flash, and the extra lighting greatly reduces the chances of red eye in the photo.

If you suspect IV drug use, confirmation comes from tracks (bruises at the elbow, back of the hand, top of the foot, etc) from bleeding at the site of injection. Even tho oral transmission is very unlikely, my preference would be not to have any contact with an IV user.

You forgot needle marks on the ass, which many SWs cover up with band-aides and tell you some whopper like they are insect bites (yeah, even in mid-winter, LOL). If you eliminate every SW on the stroll with any sign of needle marks you might have very few left. PLUS, how do you know they have any needle marks until you get them totally naked? You would have to do a thorough inspection of every single one of them indoors, never do a car date, and invest a lot of capital for room fees which wind up in refusals on your part.

I respect your caution, and you are most certainly free to do whatever you think is safe, but there are some practical limits IMHO to making sure there are absolutely no IV and / or HIV risks whatsoever. Even if a SW is not a needle user, she is likely exposed to mongers who are, or mongers who have exposed themselves to girls who are, or men or girls who are, down the line of contacts. You know how that goes: when you have sex with someone you are having sex with everyone they have had sex with, and everyone they have had sex with, ad infinitum.

I had a quick question, in a few of the pics you can see the flash reflecting in their eyes, wouldn't a camera flash cause the pupils to look like that as well? I'm no photography expert just throwing the question out there?

Pinpoint pupils can result from a downer opiate in many forms: opium, H, percs, roxys. It is a fact of life for SWs, especially those on the K. I was reminded privately by Giani, that stimulant drugs like those which are cocaine-based (crack, et. al.) and crystal meth, etc., cause the opposite condition: pupil dilation. Giani mentioned that he might be tempted to put together a collage of crack-user pupils, which can be a turn on for him personally (and ME), and has been a turn on since the days of the Roman orgies as a sign of arousal. That would be VERY welcome from this corner, Giani. Maybe next year I will have to add a "crack-pupil" category to my SW Contest? I always assume a girl is a user, no matter what she tells me. Regardless, she is engaging in risky sexual activity, as am I. Others can assume whatever level of risks they choose in this hobby. That is their business. I personally draw the line at covering myself where intercourse is involved.

Regardless whether a girl is an IV user or not, she can be exposing herself to mongers who are, and; therefore, to you. HIV is always a deadly threat and I try to give it an especially wide berth. While there are a few cases that the CDC says they have documented of oral transmission of HIV, the evidence is sketchy and relatively unproven, and the incidence is extremely low and highly unlikely. That doesn't mean it isn't possible, but the risk is very MUCH lower.

Firstly, congrats for learning a collage technique. I find this approach invaluable myself in the large pic attachment format available with the new software here. It is especially useful when making side-by-side comparisons of any sort as in: a quick visual overview of pic icons posted; viewing celebrity look-alikes on the stroll; comparing SWs side-by-side when someone has mistaken one for the other; or, directly comparing SWs for any reason, as in my SW of the Year Contest, and, your pinpoint pupil illustration.

Secondly, regarding the girls you pictured that I have dated, to illustrate pinpoint pupils. I know all of them are drug users either by what I have observed or heard from them. I really don't believe that either Candace or Champagne use needles. There wasn't a mark on their bodies that I noticed. Champagne admitted that she pops pills and Candace, true to her name, told me she was making a visit to the "candy man" after one of our dates. Melissa also mentioned using drugs, but was not specific. I don't want to accuse her of using needles, because her skin was relatively clear as well.
