Gentlemen,
My mailbox has had a lot of activity and I accidentally cleared a bunch of my "Sent" folder. If I promised you Michelle's phone number and haven't sent it, I apologize, send anther PM, I'll send it. I'll have your other messages to know we talked. I can probably give it to a couple more at this point. Priority to those I have a history with. Others, please have a good number of good, helpful posts- I will review your history to see if you share info, or mostly ask for it. Attitude towards fellow mongers and an indication that you are especially respectful of the ladies that deserve it. Notice I'm not saying "Seniors" only- not that being a Senior isn't a plus, I do share with regular members that seem like good guys that are here for everyone's benefit.
Be careful out there.
Blue.

Most of the tracking devices simply act like a cell site and / or WiFi hotspot and log your presence as your device shakes hands in an attempt to connect.
I'd worry a lot more about that or a powered up device than a truly powered off device. Most of the buzz around communicating with so called powered off devices involves malware that makes to device appear to shut down but it's still powering the radios.

Perhaps best bet is to just have a pre paid phone that you use to mess around with, that way your identity is never linked to the phone. They can track your GPS location based on the phone, but not your identity.

Could we get a tech guy to confirm this?

This is dated 2014, so you can imagine how much further the technology has been refined from then to now.
I'm NEVER driving through that area with my phone turned on again. For those of us with work phones registered under our employers, this could be bad news.

Yeah, it's real.

As you shop, "beacons" are watching you, using hidden technology in your phone.
EXCERPT:
Imagine you are shopping in your favorite grocery store. As you approach the dairy aisle, you are sent a push notification in your phone: "10 percent off your favorite yogurt! Click here to redeem your coupon. " You considered buying yogurt on your last trip to the store, but you decided against it. How did your phone know?
Your smartphone was tracking you. The grocery store got your location data and paid a shadowy group of marketers to use that information to target you with ads. Recent reports have noted how companies use data gathered from cell towers, ambient Wi-Fi, and GPS. But the location data industry has a much more precise, and unobtrusive, tool: Bluetooth beacons.
These beacons are small, inobtrusive electronic devices that are hidden throughout the grocery store; an app on your phone that communicates with them informed the company not only that you had entered the building, but that you had lingered for two minutes in front of the low-fat Chobanis.
Most location services use cell towers and GPS, but these technologies have limitations. Cell towers have wide coverage, but low location accuracy: An advertiser can think you are in Walgreens, but you're actually in McDonald's next door. GPS, by contrast, can be accurate to a radius of around five meters (16 feet), but it does not work well indoors.
Bluetooth beacons, however, can track your location accurately from a range of inches to about 50 meters. They use little energy, and they work well indoors. That has made them popular among companies that want precise tracking inside a store.

I do not know what Wtby or other depts have specifically but there have been a shitload of Stingrays sold to local LE. The Stingray has enormous abuse potential and there are many instances of it being used to shred the 4th Amendment.

Posts: 20First in a long time,
So it's been a while since I've dabble into this. But picked up a fairly attractive blonde. Goes by name Candy. Good head game. Definitely on something LOL. But aren't they all? Was really trying to run into the infamous Lady M, that's honestly the reason why I did partake. Also it is no joke with the security with phones. I have a friend that's a cop in town he called me like 3 times trying to get a hold of me. He didn't text for obvious reasons but told me in a way that I knew what he was talking about saying "you shouldn't text and drive in Waterbury and you should definitely shut off your phone".

Just got back from the loop. The whole area is dead, undercovers driving around, smells like a sting. Do yourself a favor and sit this night out.
