Caitlin mullen of the Daily Chronicle reported today that she didn't appear. Guess we will have to wait another month.

Well, after the last report, it seems as though our favorite lawyer / prostitute has decided to fight the charges against her:

How her attorney plans to get her found not guilty if the police actually have emails from her detailing what she was going to do (and probably discussing what they actually did) is something I can't see. Story says Oct. 18 will be her next court date, so I guess we'll all find out then.

I just hope that she win this or is still allowed to practice law. I would pay her extra to help me out with the judge.

Don't know, but the newspaper article mentioned "plea bargin" specifically. Usually that means you admit your guilt to at least some of the charges against you. Maybe I don't know lawyers, but if the county prosecutor is an elected official, I can't see him / her going through all of this and letting her walk with her license to practice. Just too much publicity for something like that, unless Reema was able to deliver some really big fish on something major. Otherwise, it smacks of one lawyer 'going easy' on another lawyer, not something you want to hand any potential political foe.

She might be broke, but fresh off a plea bargin, do you think she's going to be dumb enough to take any "clients" anytime soon? I used to "know" her too, and I wouldn't bet on it happening.

I was curious and decided to search the DeKalb newspaper site to see what's going on, if anything, with her case. Looks like her lawyer and the county prosecutor are nearly ready to play "Let's Make A Deal".

There was an early story from back in June that I didn't catch that involved a former school board member being charged with forgery that links back to her too. The site won't let you read it unless you pay, but the teaser says the board member was involved in some sort of legal matter and forged her name to some paperwork, then asked her to lie for him about signing the papers. Kind of makes me wonder if she's going to talk in return for a lighter sentence?

I have a number I'm willing to share with you. It's 16. It's a great number. Yoiu can divide it in half, or in quarters, in eighths, just about any combination. But 16 believes in safe numbering, so please have protection. You can tell 16 that Mr Stinky sent you.

Haven't even heard that she's gone to trial yet, so odds are she's still out awaiting her court date. That said, I cannot imagine anyone thinking she'd be stupid enough to take any 'clients' now, with the cops looking over her shoulder. Give it a break, dean!
