Sad to say, Am has closed Good Day. The lesson in all of this is... For the good ones that take care of you and that you care about seeing again, support them as much as you can, as they are just trying to make a living like everyone else.

You bring up a very good point. I once had a conversation with Am, the owner of Good Day Thai Massage and she mentioned back pain limited how many customers she could see in a day. She basically worked alone in her shop, not making "house fees" from girls working in her shop...

This is a hard time to be in business. Obviously, they feel there are enough customers / hobbyists to open more shops or expand. Patronize the good shops or independent massage therapists. Pay the good ones like May what they need to make a good living and maybe they will stick around longer.

For what it's worth, we can rule out you having gotten it at Pin Thai, if you started having symptoms the next day. I know you didn't flat out say you got it from there, but just wanted to add. It would be pretty rare for you to start showing symptoms the very next day.

I was vaccinated with the J&J vaccine back in September. I had not gotten the booster shot. I was recently at the Pin Thai at Aiea Town Square. I was there this President's Day weekend to get a massage from one of my favorites (keeping the name anonymous due to the content of this post). Masks were worn throughout the whole event.

The next day I was having lunch with a friend and I noticed that I couldn't taste anything. I went home and took one those at-home Covid tests. I tested positive. Other than no taste and a slight cough, I don't feel that bad. I am going to go to my doctor tomorrow to get a second test just to double check. I am usually a pretty careful person, so this is the only place I can think of where I could have caught it. Everywhere else I go is with family or friends that I know well. Just a reminder that wearing a mask and having the vaccine doesn't guarantee anything.
