Ez, I feel the same way. Thats why I'm trying to info to avoid LE tricks and to help the providers from spotting LE. Going after the providers is nothing but business, bottom line is money for LE and the court system and in this town to help old Simon L. Leis to stay in power.

You're right about all the people doing serious crime but LE puts a lot of time going after providers. Reasons for that is mainly it's easy to go after them and catch them in the act. Sure you heard LE say they bust prostitutes because they bring drugs, destroy neighborhoods, etc, etc. Truth is because it's a moral issue in society. In reality it's no worst than any other profession or occupation in society.

Where is this going? It seems a shame, that for the most part a victimless crime generates so much LE enforcement. Go get the guys/girls with the guns, shooting each other! I have a couple of providers, GFE's, with maybe 4-5 girls total. Both are pretty low-key and depend mostly on repeat business. They tell me that times are getting pretty tough, but at least that might translate into some discounted sessions. LOL.

You mention that LE is targeting stings that say things like, "Satisfaction guarenteed" or "total satisfaction"? Do you think that replying to such an ad, one could be busted for just showing up?

I have never requested a specific sex act or mentioned any money with anyone I have seen, or talked to on the phone, until maybe a second visit. I have given a HJ signal at an AMP on the first visit, I would think that would be difficult to prove, unless they had a camera in the room. LOL.

Sorry this is a long report. I've condensed it down as much as I could.

This all began when I've notice awhile back on the News LE busting escorts on CL and reading reports about escorts on CL robbing people and scamming.

So I decided to look further into what is exactly happing on CL.

I use CL very little because of all the scammers but had good success when I check out carefully the ads for a provider. I read reports from others getting ripped off by Cash & Dash and Bait & Switch Scammers that I wanted to help fellow mongers on spotting the bad ones.

My search lead me to info on the Net about how LEO can easily set up stings and find out who placed an Ad on CraigsList for escort service!

I know in the pass reports I had stated to do research on an escort etc, etc. especially if she advertise on CraigsList.
But I wasn't aware about the Bill 2257.

If you all remembered back in November 2007 there were stings going on in Mason and Sharonville over the escorts in CraigsList.

All escorts advertising on CL can be easily found out about because of a bill passed by both the Clinton and Bush administrations.

It's called US Fed Law 2257 and with this law all LE can get info on who ever has anything sexually explicit, on any web site needs to have some type of government issued documentation for their proof of the age on file with each website they advertise on.

This pertains to escorts and mongers take note.

Millions of people log onto Craigslist, looking for everything from apartments and jobs, to jewelry and cars. But now, there is a growing number of people logging on for sex.

Every conceivable law authority, city vice detectives, county sheriffs, even federal agents, and local, county, state, and federal politicians are now closely scrutinizing Craigslist.

Detectives say most women selling themselves on Craigslist have "cyberpimps who they have to make money for. The ads the cyber pimps post place the girls at great risk and make them target of the cops because the ads offer things that blatantly break the prostitution laws.

This in effect make the girls working independently post ads that are explicit, because if they don’t post a guarantee of service or satisfaction, their ads may not generate any interest.

The cops love this because they say setting these people up and busting them is like taking candy from a baby." We know escorting is a competitive industry, and in escorting there is no guarantee of sex, so we look for the sure thing, where the ad promises full service or satisfaction guaranteed.

Detectives say that is what makes Craigslist so popular for online prostitution is that it’s free, anyone can post, and there is very little regulation by craigslist. Of course craigslist has no incentive to regulate the adult services “erotic services” ads because right now that were 70% of their entire website traffic comes from.

If you advertise on craigslist, beware! Law enforcement in every town, city, and state are going after those explicit ads on craigslist. They say making arrests from craigslist is so easy, they have pretty much abandoned all former methods of policing the industry. Our local pages are full of articles from local news sources and papers indicating arrests made solely from Craigslist Erotic Services ads where the cops say making arrests is so easy, it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

THIS IS WHY IT IS SO EASY

Law makers have conveniently changed the 2257 code to be interpreted in such a way that essentially anyone who has anything sexually explicit, on any web site needs to have some type of government issued documentation for their proof of the age on file with each website they advertise on. These policies will put at risk your identity and your personal and private information to be exploited by the US Federal Government and Local Law Enforcement.

Now, for an Escort directory to be 2257 compliant, it means that the web master must post on the website the physical address of where they store and maintain all of their age verifying documentation for all their advertisers. This makes it easy for federal agents to walk in anytime unannounced and within drive away with a down load of all those records. Once in the hands of federal authorities, the government now has everything they need to stick a microscope up every escort's collective backsides to learn all there is to know about each and every one of them.

Fed Law 2257 makes all American owned escort directories vulnerable, so it would seem reasonable for escorts wishing to protect their privacy to avoid advertising on the following directories.

The above directories will be targeted only because they are American owned and happen to be in the jurisdiction of the US Dept of Justice. If you advertise on them unfortunately you will be in jeopardy of having the US government and your local vice cops learn more about you than you really want them too.

What Will The Government Learn About You?
From your drivers license, they Feds will know your real name, your current physical address, and your phone number. From there they can cross reference that information with other government data bases and obtain your Social Security number. Then the IRS will look to see if you file tax returns and how much you report. They'll analyze how your reported earnings compare to where you live and what kind of car you drive, and whether you are living beyond your means. And if they see you don't file taxes, then you'll be in trouble for that too.

They will then run a credit check and see where you bank, what your balances are, how many credit cards you have and what their balances are. They'll see where you shop, what you purchase, and how much you pay each month, and question how you make the money to make monthly payments of pay off those balances.

There are two more points worth noting:

Misleading justification: Under both the Clinton and Bush administrations, the Justice Department has claimed that this law, known as 2257 because of its location in the U.S. Code, is necessary to protect children. But even possessing child pornography is a separate crime, still on the books, with criminal penalties severe enough to induce paranoia in the adult industry. A better explanation for why this law exists is that Congress is trying to put law-abiding porn producers out of business by weighing them down with more and more regulations--backed with mandatory prison time for non-compliance.

Everyone's a felon: When nearly everyone's a felon, staying out of jail depends on whether a prosecutor likes you or not. You can guess where political dissidents or people protesting wars end up. Besides 2257 and the obvious example of drug laws, the U.S. Congress has slowly created a a dizzying number of federal felonies, including sharing copyrighted music with a friend or family member (a crime) and fibbing to your brother-in-law over the phone that you really do intend to pay back a loan immediately (a crime). Whether you know it or not, you're probably already an unindicted federal felon too.

Warning to all about CraigsList. I've been reading on other sites as well as CraigsList about LE activity on CL. Tonight on the CL Dayton, Ohio board there were only "8" listings for W4M category. Usually there's about 100 like in the Cincinnati board. Why is this happening?

Why are all the postings getting deleted here on the Dayton page. This isn't happening anywhere else. Who ever is doing this please stop. Everyone else needs to complain to Craigslist to make it harder for postings to get flagged. Most cities postings for these services go back months. I already complained to Craigslist. Everyone else needs to help stop this abuse by complaining.
