It appears that most of the AMPs in Horry County and Georgetown county will be closing soon.

Most of them got notice from solicitor to abate in 10 days. At least 3 have appeared to do so.

However, this has happened before. In the late 80's it seemed like there was an AMP on every corner, then there was a crackdown and they all closed. I remember a lot of those places very fondly!

It took years, but they came back, and they'll come back this time after there is a new council / sherriff / chamber of commerce / whatever.

Of course I may be too old to enjoy it by then.

(And just as a side note -- I don't think there are any AMPs in Georgetown county).
