This has happened to lots of people. I've never heard of guys going to secondary screening for it, but I've heard of them being sent to the back of the regular line -- in one case was an extra hour wait, so secondary may have been faster!

I do have an interesting story on the Global Entry process. The first time I did it was OK, just took a long time. The second time was interesting. When I went in for the interview the agent had me put my fingers on a reader and about five seconds later he asked, "What's this reckless driving deal in 1969?" That is my only arrest and I beat it, anyway, but that was 50 years ago. A permanent record is a permanent record.

Two years ago when I did my concealed carry background check, it took two weeks to get my fingerprint check. Ain't technology great?

Has something changed? I haven't been to TJ for a couple of years. Last visit I had to show my passport card (and fill out the FMM paperwork) to get through Mexican customs.

It is inconsistently enforced. Filling out the FMM is more common now, but I don't know of anyone who was turned away because they didn't have a passport. I go down all the time with medical patients on their first trip out of the country. Many of them don't have passports and none are ever hassled.

With respect, you may be correct, but a border agent can be an ass if he wants to be. I entered with a newly renewed Global Entry card that I did not realize had to be registered on line. Who knew? I also had my passport but that didn't matter. I was sent to secondary where I sat in a empty room with two agents sitting at their desks doing nothing for a half hour before being called up. I got a lecture and then passed through.

You do what you want, but why tug on Superman's cape? Just play by the rules.

Second, I have never had my passport stamped going into Mexico or coming out so I don't think anyone has to worry about a wife or girlfriend knowing he went to TJ. If they did want to stamp it you can ask that it be put on a separate piece of paper and just inserted into the passport. There are countries where this is standard, like Israel, where an Israeli stamp makes it impossible to then enter any Arab country.

They will stamp most guys passports going in by foot. Last month I went with a girl, she didn't ask to be not stamped, but they didn't stamp her. As she was getting stamp ready I said I'm just going for 2 hours to drink, she said I had to have a stamp. When my 6 month pass expired I got 5 stamps on my next 5 trips, even though I told them they were filling up my book and I wouldn't keep comming. They wanted to sell that 6 month pass. I'm getting a passport card this week to avoid giving mexico $500 over the rest of my life. I've already paid them for 5 6 month passes. My last two visits I was asked to show my passport but wasn't asked to do paperwork. And one of those times when the Mexican border agent asked why I was entering Mexico I said, "I'm going to Hong Kong Gentlmen's Club to get laid. " He laughed and thanked me for being honest and waved me through.

Not a review but I'm wondering if it's worth my time to go to HK on a Tuesday in the day I'm talking about like 11 am or 12. Has anyone gone around that time and if so how was it?

I have gone on weekdays during the day and found HK to be quite pleasant. Not crowded and an ample number of model quality ladies. And plenty of street girls, too.

I think HK does a free breakfast one or two days a week. I have never done it, but that may tell you something.
