I've been testing this stuff out. It does seem to have some effects, but not as potent as the PDE5 inhibitors. I know this a little better from the side effects (headache, stuffy nose, body / back ache) than the effects on my wood. I have been taking a Horny Goat Weed tablet that is made by Source Naturals, it's 500 mg and says it is 10% icariin, so that means 50 mg per. I take two or three. There is no reason it should be identical to V, C, or L, they are drug molecules that are very hydrophobic and may go to different places in the body than icariiin, which is less so. It may not give you the dramatic effects that the regular drugs do, but if you just need / want a little help sometimes, which is my situation, I'd recommend this. The bottle of the tabs I got from a vitamin shoppe and cost in the neighborhood of $20, no scrip. That's a plus.

I see this YouTube ad every once in a while touting the benefits of vitamin C and garlic. Christopher Walker guy does have some good info for someone who sells stuff.

Plant extracts traditionally used for male impotence (Tribulus terrestris, Ferula hermonis, Epimedium brevicornum, Cinnamomum cassia), and the individual compounds cinnamaldehyde, ferutinin, and icariin, were screened against phosphodiesterase-5 A1 (PDE5 A1) activity. Human recombinant PDE5 A1 was used as the enzyme source. Only E. Brevicornum extract (80% inhibition at 50 microg / mL) and its active principle icariin (1) (IC50 5. 9 microM) were active. To improve its inhibitory activity, 1 was subjected to various structural modifications. Thus, 3,7-bis (2-hydroxyethyl) icaritin (5), where both sugars in 1 were replaced with hydroxyethyl residues, potently inhibited PDE5 A1 with an IC50 very close to that of sildenafil (IC50 75 vs 74 nM). Thus, 5 was 80 times more potent than 1, and its selectivity versus phosphodiesterase-6 (PDE6) and cyclic adenosine monophosphate-phosphodiesterase (cAMP-PDE) was much higher in comparison with sildenafil. The improved pharmacodynamic profile and lack of cytotoxicity on human fibroblasts make compound 5 a promising candidate for further development.

For the guys who are always looking for something else to try:

It's a workout supplement with a low dosage, 1/8th flat teaspoon; up to three times a day. It's not a pharmaceutical, so you will not be sporting wood after 30 minutes. I was taking one dose a day for about a week and started getting wood that would wake me from my sleep. I recommend mixing it with a beverage of your choice, it has a metallic after taste when taken alone.
