I do car dates all the time, in fact I prefer them. It gives you more control so long as you pick the location. Much less chance of them trying to pull something when they're in an unfamiliar area. I'll only do late night though to minimize the risks.

A lot more risk for the girl hosting in her own place. Neighbors notice traffic and call Uncle LEO, next thing you know they're watching the spot, running plates of guys going there, and pulling them over. Then there's the issue of guys who'll just show up knocking on the door when the girl isn't answering her phone. I've done them rarely, out of desperation. But never if a better alternative was available. Definitely not a fan.
