I miss Jakes. Haven't found a place quite like it.

One Saturday I was out and about and decided I would stop in at Jakes and see what happened to her. When she saw me walk in she immediately got up and came over and gave me a big hug. Sort of picked up where we left off and it was great.
We hung out a lot for the last 3-4 years of her life. Probably saw her 3 or 4 times a week for most of those years. A story that will tell you what she was really like is this: We were in my truck at the station on the corner of Cassat and Edgewood and it was pretty chilly outside. There was a homeless lady who came along and sat down on the cement step by the door. She said that poor lady looks like she is freezing. She got out of the truck, walked over to the lady and gave her the jacket she was wearing. When she came back to the truck I asked her why she did that. She said "I've got another jacket at home and she needed it worse than I did". All of the time I knew her she never really had two nickels to rub together, yet she would do things like I just told you. Don't know how much you know about her but she had a really tough childhood, and I mean really tough. It's no wonder that she had some of the quirks and hang-ups that she had.
Like you said, "she was a really cool chick". And yes, she had her demons, she was who she was. We will all go on with our lives. Unfortunately she will no longer be part of my life but I will never forget her, and I will always miss her. She told me many times that one thing she especially liked about me is that no matter how bad a day she had that I always managed to put a smile on her face. Sort of makes me feel that I made her life a little nicer.

Take them with multiple grains of salt if you wish, you don't know me, you have no reason to believe them. Healthy skepticism on a monger forum is a good thing to have.
Was trying to convey my support for the sentiment spoken of here that a lot of us knew her for a long time, and many of us as more than just a dancer with extras. It was sad to watch her go down hill over more than a decade with her family/family situation not helping her in the brief and far between times she wanted to change her ways.
And to those she will be missed for various reasons with varies memories of her, to each of us unique ones.

I knew her for a loooong time. Over 10 years...maybe 15? Cant remember when I first met her.
Trish (kitten) was a cool chick that just happen to have some fucked up demons.
Have a few highlight memories of hanging out with her:
-One when I didn't know (yet) she was married and we was hanging out in a bar in riverside, and her phone started blowing up. Said it was her husband, and to drop her off at a friends, and he kick a dent in my car door as he was hiding in the shadows beside the friend's house.
-Driving her all the way to st. Augustine with her niece one night when hanging out, because her nieces husband was in the hospital.
-Another of hanging out by the river in Avondale to have some random home owner raise hell the public park bench was 'on her land' and run us off with threats of going to get her gun.
And you don't have to/I don't care if you believe any of them or not.
I even got a seat belt ticket that day at whatever that motel is she took me to I had to explain to my wife what the fuck I was doing way down edgewood. As I never have a reason to be over there.

She was an awesome chick, one of the VERY VERY few strippers I met I dared hang out with just to hang out, and maybe fool around later.
One time she told me she had a surprise for me, took me to whatever that 'by the hour in the woods' motel is I think way down off Edgewood? She paid for the room herself with her own money, and drug me inside refusing to let me leave until I was done twice.
