AMPs get busted from time to time. It all depends upon the local politicians needing to show they're cleaning up this or that and they tell the cops to do it. Usually this happens when things are becoming a little too obvious, or if an AMP is in a more residential area. In non-residential you probably have hobbiests visiting local businesses to look non-chalant and thus not standing out as much.

It seems they usually bust the madam and a provider, perhaps two when they run a sting. They probably also get any hobbiest they can get to confess but unless you're caught in the act you will probably end up with charges dropped (assuming you didn't confess). They're not really after the hobbiests so much as making a big show that they're doing something.

I've been told by more than one attorney, strange as this may sound at first, that it's NOT against the law to have sex with a prostitute [provided of course she's 18 or older]. What IS illegal is the payment of MONEY for sexual services. Otherwise, it's just sex between two consenting adults.

That being said, LE must prove that money was exchanged as payment for sexual services rendered ... which unless they witness the actual exchange, they can't. They can assume it, but if both parties deny it and stick to their stories, they have no proof of any illegal activities.

That's a valid point, and one I can attest to from past experience with SWs. If you're there when a place is busted, NEVER confess to anything. LE will threaten to take you to jail if you don't talk to them. Let them. When I was much younger, I was in a motel room with two SWs in downtown SD. Back in the days long before Horton Plaza. More like when it was Whoreton Plaza. Anyway, I was young and scared, and the vice cop told me that nothing would come of it. So. I stupidly told him everything. Next thing I knew, the DA was filing charges against me for solicitation. I was scared sh*tless.

I spoke to our company attorney, and he just sort of laughed as if the DA had nothing better to do. But. He also said I should've instead just let them take me to jail. They'd have had nothing at the time to really hold me on, and thus I'd likely have been let go with no further consequences. But instead, I had to hire an attorney of my own, and go to court. He got the charges reduced to one count of "disturbing the peace". And thus no sex-offender charge on my record. This was back in 1976. So I don't know how things would go down now.

One thing I did see recently, and I'd found it online. It was clip from FOX channel 6 news, where they'd done a piece on AMPs as fronts for prostitution. Not sure how old the clip was. They showed the outside of two Escondido AMPs. Sundance and Oriental Therapy. Of course, Sundance has been shut down for a while, and I'm not even sure exactly where it was. I still believe these AMPs have "Arrangements" with LE and/or the city. They probably pay them off, either monetarily and/or sexually. I do know Touch of Asia in Vista, along with one other "Health Spa" somewhere in Vista, were both busted on the same day a couple of years ago. I knew one of the girls who got busted at Touch of Asia, and LE took her and the other girl to jail. These were both Chinese places, and unlike the Korean AMPs, they don't seem to have mamasans. I persoanlly think that going to an AMP is a lot safer than say picking up a SW, or even a provider listed on Craig's List. Most of these AMPs have been around for a while, and thus my own feeling is. That they have some sort of "Arrangement" with LE. I mean, let's face it. LE knows what goes on in these places. In fact, they probably get serviced there themselves as part of their ongoing "Agreement".

I do know an AMP in Vista [Touch of Asia] got busted a year or so ago, along with another one in Vista. Some sort of "Health Spa". These both had Chinese girls only. I knew one of the girls who worked at Touch of Asia personally, and she and another girl there got busted when undercover cops posed as customers, and asked for FS.

However. I don't know what [if anything] would happen to a customer in any of these places. First of all, the girls always lock the doors behind them when them come into the room to give you a massage. Plus, they've likely been instructed by the ownership what to do in case of a situation like that. I would think. They'd quickly throw a towel over your private area. They also know how to get dressed very quickly. That being said. By the time anyone got thru the door, it should appear innocent enough. Sure. LE would question you. But I learned the hard way [from picking up a SW a long time ago]. Admit to nothing. They can try and intimidate you, but remember. You're innocent until proven guilty. They have to have proof.

I personally feel that using undercover cops, whether posing as customers in AMPs, or posing as SWs. Is a definite form of entrapment. I guess legally it's not, but it sucks nonetheless. LE must figure that if they turn up the heat on the Johns, then the Sws or AMPs will be out of business.

I used to do SWs, but no more. I used to go to TJ, but I don't feel comfortable going across the border anymore. That being said, I still feel AMPs are the best way to go. I've never once had a problem using any of them in PB or Escondido. And I do feel at least 99% safe there. There are several established AMPs around.

Since our hobby is against the law, getting arrested always is an issue. But I've been doing this for 25 years and have never had any problems. My recommendations, for what they are worth:

1. Only go to well known AMP that have been reviewed here.
2. Try to see a provider who also has been mentioned here. I think the greatest risk, rather than being in the AMP when it is busted, is getting caught in a sting. where the providr actually is a LEO. After all, that really is the only way it can be absolutely proven that the monger did anything wrong.
3. Always get the provider to offer extras first. Also, try to touch the provider (respectfully) as much as possible and get her to touch you during the massage. If you are not covered with a towel from the start, you probably are safe. If you get caught in a sting when the provider offered extras first and/or touched you, you always can claim entrapment. Keep the Spidey-sense active. If something seems wrong, it probably is.
4. If you do get caught getting serviced during a bust, do not say anything and do not admit anything to the police. This is critical, especially since they probably will pressure you to make admissions.

I saw a report about this on the TV news as well. Apparently, it was a nice house rented in a real nice neighborhood in La Mesa. The mongers were parking down the street from the house in front of other neighbor's houses. The neighbors got suspicious with all the traffic and alerted the La Mesa PD, who researched the place on Craigslist to get the phone # then the add. Then, a sting. Reminds me of a similar place that was operated by 4 or 5 older ladies in La Mesa about 5 years of so ago, but also busted. That was a pretty nice place with decent service not withstanding the ages of the providers. No news whether the new place that was busted was asians.
