I've been an active member in this hobby for almost 15 years and a member of about 6 boards and have usually just been a lurker because I choose to lay low. However, I had to chime in on the whole SW/MP/Escort thing.

5. Weed out all the riff raff and not waste money looking for the "diamond in the rough" by seeking the indys/agencies that provide true quality day in and day out.

6. Have some fun with the hobby without having to worry about all the "unknown variables" that exist on the street, MP, jack shacks, or even on CL for that matter.

Everyone has their own opinion on what suits them best, but from experience, I can say that a well planned hobby is a fun hobby.

You gentlemen make some interesting points. I know from reading these reports that escorts come with their own problems. I also know from reading other boards around the country, that even escorts seem to offer better service than around chicago. It would probably be an interesting research study to explore why the Chicago area sucks for sex more than most other areas of the country. All I know is that ten years ago, I was able to find the occasional diamond in the rough in AMP's. You would be greetd by a friendly smile. Chances were the girl would be at least a 5 if not more. The massage might actually be pretty good before you were asked if you wanted "more". Now you go into an AMP and everything sucks. The girl will probably be butt-ugly. The massage will be a few minutes of crummy rubbing. The girl will not smile and there be no conversation besides "Lie on your stomach". When asking about extras, the girl will ask like she was asking you to punch her in the face, which is what I feel like doing with her attitude. There are apts in the Gold Coast you get sent to when you call certain Reader ad numbers. Some of the girls are really hot but not very responsive, others are GFE and cute (fuckable). I visited Europe not too long ago and checked out the Red Light Districts in Amsterdam and Brussels. I did my research before and during and all the variables Hobby Rookie describes don't exist there. My biggest problem with Escorts is SCHEDULING! A lot of guys, due to their obligations, are not in a position to call (or email) an escort, wait around for a call-back or reply, only to have her tell you "sorry, I'm booked today, how about tomorrow". Usually, I find myself with a small window of time where I can play, and the escorts just can't (or won't) accommodate last-minute appointments.

Yeah, escorts are a pain in the ass. You have to catch them when they are "available." I have run into this problem quite a bit. The day of the week and time don't seem to make a difference either. Oh for the days of great amp's. PS in nw ind., if it open this month, is still a great time for $2.

Other than that, the "chinese apartments" are alway everthing you want for 1.6. Some also give you a half decent massage and have self service showers.
