Field Report, Pandemic Edition, Part 2.
Found myself in south Scottsdale on a December Saturday evening and decided to swing by a couple places I haven't seen for awhile. I was curious about Elite Cabaret, the place on Hayden in Tempe. Found it dark and closed. No surprise for me. It's owned by the same group that owns Dream Palace. Both rip off places. I think the only reason Dream Palace survives is because of the passing traffic on Rural / Scottsdale. Plus they pay taxi drivers to drop off passengers. I was going to check out a couple of other places that evening but forgot to swing by the site for the Pink Rhino on Van Buren. It wasn't a big deal as I had done so about 4 - 6 weeks before. The building and lot was so dark that night I actually drove past it without noticing. I turned around to do a loop through the pitch dark parking lot. I ended the evening at Christie's on 32nd Street. The place was far from packed but not empty either. Among the few dancers there was one who was particularly hot and cute. She had multiple customers trying to get her attention when she off stage. Very popular. A few months ago someone here wondered why the place was so slow. It had recently reopened. How does a person find out about clubs now? Thirty years ago the local paper actually had club adverts. The newspaper stopped that. The next thing was the New Times. I'm sure the clubs could still advertise there. Not sure why they don't. This forum and the other strip club online source might be the only places to discover new and reopened club other than driving by.
Kandie's Part 1. I noticed there has been recent discussion about Kandie's (formerly Exotica, Minks, etc. Body Shop, a nude place long ago), the place on Grand, northwest of Indian School. Over the past six months I'd occasionally would swing by and loop around the parking lot before headed elsewhere. Exterior lights were on but otherwise locked up. One time I noticed a trash can outside filled with empty pizza boxes which made me believe there might be remodeling in progress. I can't see this as a ongoing venture unless the management completely revises it's practices for dancers and customers. Dancers reported the club fees as a series of "nickel and diming" tip outs to management, security, DJs, and every non-dancer who happened to be the building. This was one reason for the continuous turnover in dancers. Personally, I like to be pleasantly surprised to meet hot new and personable dancers but also like to find dancers I can count on. Too much dancer turnover at this club and, when I did find someone nice, the multiple VIP options made it difficult to continue. Big Tim fondly remembers a visit there with myself and a couple others when the management suggested a game of "musical chairs" with the dancers. (good times!) One of my faves from another club actually took on a promotional assignment at the club for awhile which didn't work out. (I'll have to get the story on that).
Kandie's Part 2. When Chicas decided to fire almost all it's black dancers, many of them found their way to Exotica / Minks. Ahh, the memories. (Grin) Very sexy. Going back, I don't remember how many years ago, when the location reopened, I sat at the bar and talked with the manager. I asked him how he was advertising or marketing the place. His expectation was that commuters would just drop in as they passed on Grand / US60 on the way to the northwest towns. If they didn't pass ABC and Dirty's before Minx / Kandie's etc, yeah, that would be good but unless Kandie's offering something special, I can't see people passing ABC and Dirty's for an inferior experience.
End of part 2.
Part 3 forthcoming.

Higgs noted that he's received a few offers of private events, which doesn't surprise me. What does surprise me is that I haven't seen a wave of these girls joining the body rub and escort ranks. I thought by now we would see a bunch of new ads. Has anyone?

Big Tim has gently encouraged me to report out my club visits into the beginning of this year.
Filing this report feels a little strange. This is a difficult time for many people. People hospitalized or dying from this new virus. Many who aren't sickened may have been laid off / furloughed and not receiving any income. Difficult times to experience or witness.
Some of us can self-isolate. Some are keeping our world / society running through providing healthcare, transportation of goods or people, keeping our food supplies in stock, and many other roles.
Stay healthy and safe everyone.
Artists of all kinds are affected. Personally, my calendar has entries for a dozen music acts which were scheduled to play at downtown clubs into June. I'm investigating ways to support the musical artists.
More focused for this forum, all the strip clubs are closed. No telling when they may reopen but things may be radically different when they reopen. Here in AZ the governor has announced that dine-in at restaurants could open by May 12. Big Tim tells me some clubs may open that day if they serve food. Dancers will only be able to be on the stage (s). I'm confident strip clubs will reopen but the clubs on shaky financial ground may be gone. Dancers who relied on the clubs, well, I don't know. Dancers I know tell me some dancers are doing private parties. I've had a couple of offers myself for private get togethers. I have my SB. Even then I haven't seen her in almost 8 weeks as we're practicing social distancing. Still, I was tempted to partake in some private activities but the threat of the virus makes me hesitate. More on dancers in subsequent parts.
Over the past few months the usual weekly meet up with the SB has occasionally been interrupted because of scheduling issues for both of us. Therefore, here are some field reports, starting with short ones. I'm hoping to post one or more daily over the next four days.
Part 2 to follow next.
Higgs.

Place just sent out a social media join blitz. Likely cause I follow a few girls.
Haven't heard of this place, it's over by the Dirtys area. Is this a re brand / new owner thing or a fresh new club?
They're obviously trying to hit the ground running as soon as the state opens, but marketing doesn't guarantee good service (in fact it could mean the new owner is putting a lot of attention on it, which usually leads to less milage).

Anyone know London, she danced at Alaskan Bush Co last time I was there (early Feb.) and she was great. Love to know if she's still there once this blows over, went somewhere else or what.

Posts: 40Ummmm, I suppose all of the area gentlemen's clubs have been indefinitely closed? Are they allowed to offer takeout and / or delivery like the other valley restaurants?
