I am not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV but all things considered, I believe this is the focal point of the law enforcement sting. If you never said anything to incriminate you then they cannot arrest.

Stopping to to talk to anyone at anytime is not a crime.

Put them in a position where If you do get arrested, you can walk away from this a rich man.
