Different drugs can have different effects on downtown providers, so that could depend upon which specific drug or drugs a provider was currently using. For example, stimulant drugs such as methamphetamine and cocaine can result in different behavior than opioids and depressants. So the fact that a provider isn't aggressively seeking customers, marching up and down the street, and looking up from a phone wouldn't necessarily mean that the provider is drug-free.

Sometimes its easier if you can stay in one place for a long time. The street is a tough place. Low grade providers, mahus, and men with limited cash. Most have moved online. Not sure how BSG works her business. She is on the street a lot but not soliciting. She is always waiting for a customer to arrive. I don't see ads for her so I'm guessing she has developed a lot of relationships over the past 12 years and has a steady client base. Her service and cleanliness must not be that bad. If she was on drugs she would be more aggressive marching up and down the street. Or at least look up from her phone.

Although I hadn't thought of the Korean Paula with the gambling problem for a long time, your post made me remember her, from about fifteen years ago. When I first saw her standing near the intersection of Maunakea Street and North Kukui Street, I wasn't sure whether she was a streetwalker. However, fortunately she was, and as you say her BBBJs were excellent. She eventually agreed to a BBBJ-DATY-BBFS home date, and that was good too (even though she herself didn't show much passion, at least I enjoyed it). Then she subsequently disappeared from the downtown scene. Wonder whatever happened to her?

Saw her cutting through the parking lot by Papa John's as I headed Mauka. When I came back to town 20 minutes later, I saw her crossing the street Mauka heading toward Foster Botanical Garden.

Found this one. Closer I got the more turned off. Too fat for me. Must be skinny. This one was a little grouchy because I declined to see her after wasting two minutes of her time.
