I have "window shopped" the craigslist ads probably for more than 10 years. During that time I have noticed several additions to the spam ads to make them appear to be "real". Within the past few weeks numbers have been included that give the appearance of being phone numbers. Googling on a few results in no previous provider ads.

Since I will not make an effort to phone those numbers I do not know if the spammers have bought burner phones or if there is another explanation. One possible explanation, presumably, is that LE has bought burner phones, but I would guess that if they were going to conduct stings they would advertise on backpage rather than craigslist.

One of the ways I have aoided being ripped off is the rip, Once I have my serice provider and we have agreed on a price (which I already have separated) I pull the donation out and rip it in half. I show them the masking tape that is available once services completed they have their half and I have mine. Most of us have banks so they will replace it if you bring it in, this has stopped many a girl from the GRAB AND GO. Even the fake I'm going to call my pimp or the police types.

Yes, it was cut and paste from my google voice page. The craigslist ad had the number obfuscated in the usual ways. As a matter of fact they posted another ad later last night but it was flagged off. Guess she had more steak knives in the car.

Anyway, in years past I've met quite a few non-pros / UTRs with no prior internet presence and had a great time and established long lasting mutually beneficial "relationships". I suspect the time for that sort of thing has passed, though. Craiglist has always been iffy but it seems to have become nothing but a cesspool of spam and robs and rip offfs. I'm guessing the UTRs have moved to the sugar baby sites?

1) Patronizing a "provider" whose phone number has no prior internet presence; and.

2) Having her come to your residence on top of mistake #1.
