My fishing these days are fresh water lakes for bass, crappie, and tiger muskie with ultra-light fishing tackle with 4 lb. test. It's a real hoot when you get a nice bass on the line with such light tackle.
I have been doing a couple of half-day fishing charters out of Ocean City the past few years. I haven't caught any trophies yet, but have been having a lot of fun.
Way to go, Horsetrader.

This is a report that may only be appreciated by BBB.
I went fishing with a friend tonight and the Rockfish were everywhere. We were bottom fishing at a place he called the "sewer pipe" just north of the Bay Bridge near the east end. There were 2 boats near us and it looked like they were doing just was well as we were. Before we arrived he said we weren't keeping anything less than 28". We only fished about 1.5 hours and boated 4 Rockfish between than 28" and 32" and about 6 Rockfish between about 15" and 24". There is a 2 Rockfish per person limit.
I've fished the bay for years and have never caught that many large Rockfish so quickly. Usually this time of year the only large fish are those damn rays.
Anybody thinking of taking a bay fishing trip might want to do it now.

Angelos with the Orioles is as difficult as you can get; giving a large control of the front office decisions to his know-nothing sons, refusing to acknowledge the team as the Baltimore Orioles, and firing Davey Johnson when it looked like the team was getting it turned around.

CJ, I am a die hard Redskin fan. I eat, sleep and breath Redskins and every loss just about kills me. I haven't had much to cheer about because of their poor records over the past several years (post Coach Joe Gibbs first time as coach).
I can't understand why Coach Joe decided to come back to coach a second time knowing how the game has changed with free agency, over-paid superstars, salary cap, and a difficult owner (Dan Snyder). Joe accomplished everything you can accomplish in the NFL the first time around. He had nothing else to prove.
Last year's record of 5 and 11 was hard to take. All of us fans want to go back to the glory days when Joe Gibbs won 3 Super Bowls. We have the players now, but whether the motivation is there is a different matter.
I have always enjoyed our rivalry with the Cowboys and coach Tom Landry. It really intensified when coach George Allen and the "Hogs" (O-line under coach Joe Bugle) were there. Those were some of the best NFL games I have seen. They players and coaches played their hearts out. You don't see that today since it's all about money rather than the will to win and love of the game.
To make matters worse, my current heartthrob, Carrie Underwood (American Idol and C&W recording artist) was dating Cowboy QB, Tony Romo. Now that made me mad) lol

If you are looking for something to do, you might want to consider attending the SPORTSMAN'S EXPO, Frederick Fairgrounds, on August 17, 18, and 19. Gates open at 9 am. Cost around $5 to $7 per adult.
Next to the big Sportsman's shows in Harrisburg, PA. and Reston, VA., this is the next biggest. They will have guest speakers, guides, and all kinds of concession stands selling guns, ammo, clothing, game calls, archery equipment, tree stands, knives, books, and an assortment of other related hunting stuff.
Hunting season is just around the corner (September 15, bow season) and here's a chance to latch onto some of the latest equipment. The show will usually encompass 4 large buildings and parking is free. They will also sell food and drink.
It's a good place to take kids too as well as the SO or wife (even though she will be bored out of her head).

I just got back from watching the Redskins Open Practice at their training facility in Ashburn, VA. this morning. It was a hoot. Hot as hell, but no one seemed to mind the 96 degree heat as the Redskins went through their practice drills.
The open practices are free and so is parking. All you need to do is bring a comfortable lounge chair and at least 2-20 oz. Gatorade drinks and you will be set to enjoy the 2-hour practice. You can print the player roster off their web site as well as get directions and dates of the practices.
Being an avid fan, it gave me a chance to look at some of the newer players, veterans, and to see how they looked so far. They come out and break into their specialty groups, do warm up exercises, running and passing drills, 7 on 7 drills, while the punter and place kicker did a few kicks.
QB Jason Campbell, TE Chris Cooley, and WR Santana Moss looked great and were standouts. There were no contact drills so it was hard to gauge how far along the team is.
I was surprised that very few players came over to sign autographs. Coach Joe Gibbs came by and thanked us for showing up and signed autographs. There were three very hot looking cheerleaders there for pictures and autographs. Several guys took advantage and had the girls pose with them. The girls were wearing white spandex shorts that gave you an instant hardon just looking at them.
The open practices end next Wednesday evening.
I am sure the Ravens have something comparable to the Redskins where their fans can come and see their team for free. You might want to check out the Raven homepage.
I had a ball and may try to make another practice next week.

Posts: 202Yeah but how do you make the "bench seats rock"
I don't see a back seat or a real front seat in one of these things. I can just see the jockey's now on Washington, Ave..."Officer honest, I did not give head to that alien" The last thing we need is heroin induced SW's telling LE they saw UFO's on the Loop!
We ought to discuss which SW is most likely to see a UFO...LOL.
