The below is my personal and possibly flawed opinion.
Avoid.
99% chance this is a scam and she will want a picture of the back of the card to prove it's real before meeting. At which point she can take the money and run.
If you want to buy a gift card you might use yourself and go along with it with the option to slam the brakes on and use it yourself it might be a good experiment.
Also be wary of how much information and access to your banking the gift card can be exploited to gain. I think I read somewhere that that was a vulnerability of at least one specific card type. Possibly Apple / iTunes?

100% agree on the gift card scam likelihood, anyone who asks for the numbers on the back or a pic of the card (showing the digits) is guaranteed to be a scammer.

There are some SW's though that do request gift cards to specific stores, I have done this myself many years ago with one particular SW who only wanted Macy's or Nordstrom gift cards instead of cash.

One particular kind of card you never want to use though are the Green Dot debit cards, these are debit cards that are meant to be linked to your checking account so unless you want that drained don't ever fall for giving one of them. As I understand it they are illegal in Vermont (I'm not sure exactly why though, it may be down to the fees charged as I understand it though) in any case but I've seen them for sale in NY state.

So, I tried to see Mel in Brattleboro. I've seen her before, no problem, but this time I got nothing but the runaround -- she was all for meeting me in my room, then suddenly wanted to meet outside, and when I looked, I saw several people, so I got anxious about a scam (I do know people were using her as a scam previously). She eventually said she'd come over, but I never did connect with her, which was frustrating. Has anyone else noticed this?

Then she asked me to simply hit the store and get a gift card for the amount because she doesn't want cash around. Any red lights for anyone? Any help would be great. So sorry to have upset you Hens, but I don't feel I've done anything wrong. I found only one actual post about the provider I was asking about, and I simply wanted a second. Instead of being rude to someone you've never met, why not just be kind and help a brother out? I have delivered my share of reviews on other providers, so I would say I've done nothing that breaks the rules. Smile.

I saw a provider in CT like 5 years ago that only took gift cards. Her thinking was, a gift card payment is a gift vs cash, which could keep her safe from prosecution if set up in a sting.

Not saying she was correct. Just stating her reasoning. She operated for years on that premise. Never took cash.

As long as the card is exchanged "after" the deed is done, who cares what the payment is?

I've had girls do this before, and it was legit. I just treated it like cash, and wouldn't give her any of the card info before meeting.

So Layla (and Savannah) are posting again and I do NOT know if they are legit, but Layla certainly posts a lot. Can anyone speak to this duo? Sara (on Dorset Street) is legit, but not particularly attractive. Nikki (the larger one) is a fun time but not attractive at all, but rather inexpensive. Also, the chick from Shelburne (motel) seems legit, but rather large.

How about you read the forum posts and stop asking the same questions over and over again?

I only get to do this once or twice a year because of logistics and cost. So I've been getting excited for a week. I do hope she comes to the area some day.

Yeah I agree. Mostly bots now. The few that are there I've used to the point of no interest or had no initial interest. I've been nearly desperate to go back to 1 or 2 of them but have been holding out for the right one. Would be nice to know if people have used something else.

I see kynsley is coming back this week. I had her last time she was here (last fall? Little pricey but I had not been out in a while so figured I had saved up. Required screening like FB, or LinkedIn. She was great, we talked a while and got comfy and then went for it. She is not one you can rush or be rude with, definitely take it in her own pace and it was great. I might see her again since it's been a while with no good listings.

I think we should get the word out that a non-reviewed random STG post asking for deposits is a scam, but someone who's on Eros / TER / has their own legit website is probably a safe bet.

She texted me a bit ago that she was cancelling her trip to BTV because no one would put down a deposit. I had booked her for 1. 5 for Tuesday morning. I am back to saving my rubles for someone else.
