I had a girl say she was from Reading, and tried that webcam crap too. Amy Carlin was the name it used. I called her a scammer without even going to that site.

The person tried to get me to join, when had the nerve to ask me for the log in info and password as prove I was who I was. said that they used this way so they could prove they were not a cop by being able to strip on cam.

Total scam!

Unlucky7. You are lucky you were able to cancel the charge. When necessary I use old outdated cards for this $#!+. In NJ craigslist they want you to pay to join a club to establish contacts. Same crap! What did P T Barnum say?

That whole verification deal is a huge scam. The site that they direct you to claims to be free, but they want your credit card # as proof of identity.

I tried one night because the woman claimed she was in Reading, and once we spoke over IM and made arrangements she would give me her address. she also claimed to have a web cam that I could see once i registered at the web site. I was directed to the site, which was supposed to only be $1.

Once i paid that and went to the cam room area I immediately got an email notificaion that 39.95 was charged to my CC, and wouldnt you know it, the girl stops responding to instant messages, shocker right. I called my CC company and denied / disputed the charge and it went away easy enough, but it was the 1st and last time I will ever respond to anyone who wants to use the "verifcation services"

I wonder where these women are actually located or if it is some kind of over seas ring operating on CL. Luckily i used a card that is only used for junk like this, or buying porn.

Anyone dealt with any of the independants on CL that want you to be 'verified' though their webcam for $ before they set up appointments? They put if forth that it's for their protection but it seems to be a good way for us to part with our money (and more) with nothing to show for it?
