So I took a stroll down Fort, saw a few WSW but it looked a bit shady being that there where people hiding in the shadows close by. Pretty much gave up and kept going. I had my window down a few inches because I was smoking and while I was sitting at a light between the bridge and the Palomino club I heard the classic Hey baby, It was a WSW named Amber late 20's blond. Ok BBBJ for. 15 plus 5 cigarettes. It wasn't bad but definitely not great. She looked good but her teeth where pretty jacked up. Would maybe repeat.

I always looked at it like you should prolly be packing heat in this hobby. I don't trust any SW's especially if I have never seen them before, just think she could take your keys and Tyrone may come around the corner and get you for everything you got including your car and your phone maybe even your pants. Being that payphones are in short supply these days you would have a long cold walk ahead of you. And if you where lucky enough to find someone to let you use there cell phone I'm sure if you mentioned calling the police you would get a laughed at or a beatdown. Or you could try to call a friend or maybe even your significant other and explain to them that you got car jacked in hooker alley and somehow they got your phone, wallet, car and pants.

Or you could just shoot a ***** in the pinky toe. IMHO.

So I spent about a month in Windsor, Ontario and snuck over to Detroit a few times; not long enough to really do much of anything. What's funny is, for years everyone's told me these horror stories about Detroit and Grand River Ave and at least when I was downtown, I saw nothing. It was like any other medium sized, older city that doesn't have a whole lot going on downtown. Windsor, on the other hand, kind of threw me for a loop. I was expecting (since the strip joints are a lot more risque) a much more 'live and let live' attitude more action, etc. Not much. Just a couple of adult entertainment spots downtown; a massage / sauna on one of the main streets downtown. But I got to ask the locals a few things.

In Windsor (or Detroit) are there a lot of fake storefronts? I did pass by a couple of places that had 'sauna' advertised on the outside but I didn't see anything or any posting of hours or anything. And no mention of it on here either.

Since I was mostly on foot (I took the Tunnel Bus over and back) and I never really saw 'those awful parts of Detroit'. Where are they? I had no problems finding my way around downtown, but there was nothing going on! I kind of wanted to venture into the neighborhoods, but didn't want to seem like someone from out of town so I didn't have the guts to ask the cab drivers (they seem to know everything) etc.

And (sorry to sound naive) does 'common sense' pretty much apply to Detroit? Is the crime rate really as bad as people say, or is it like other places where, if you're looking for it, you'll find it, and if you're just doing your own thing people pretty much leave you alone? I did get the sense that. I think it was near the Greyhound Depot (I couldn't tell if it was closed or still in operation. I just saw the sign) you could walk for blocks and see nothing besides boarded up buildings and houses. How far from downtown does this start?

Needless to say I didn't have any luck when I was out there, and I should have 'done my homework' before I left here. I have to say I was a little disappointed with the lack of selection or signs of life in Windsor. As I was leaving the guy next to me was saying that Toronto is a whole 'nother story completely but I didn't get a chance to go there.

Thoughts? Would like some local advice; I'm coming back to Windsor soon. Thanks guys.

About a week ago before old man Winter set his sights on the game I hit the streets. Rode around for a couple of hours to the usual spots with little to no activity (well at least activity that I wasn't interested in). John R was spotty, the East Side (Harper) was a ghost town, Fort Street had several low pro's, missed out on a nice young tender (rare) on Woodward and Fenkell was quiet. Decided to make one final trip down the good ole Avenue. Standing not to far from Church's was a 30-ish BSW dressed in high boots, sweater, tight blue jeans with a phat booty.
