The stretch of Telegraph from 9 mile to Northwestern /696 is convenient and has long been a Hotspot with plenty of motels to choose from. Police activity is relatively light outside of traffic stops. Southfield PD isn't all that interested. There is plenty of legit commercial activity so they can remain invisible. It's also viewed as a much safer location than Telegraph south of 8, but still convenient for the dealers to make deliveries. Been active for awhile, but the group of Latinos operating there is a newer thing. Hope they don't attract too much attention.

I agree. I remember a few local news reports of "major stings" over the years, and they displayed a "mug shot board" of a few dozen people, most of them guys. It seems that they were led by the Warren Police Commissioner, but credit was also given to a Macomb County Task Force. The objective was to send a message to keep drugs and prostitution out of Macomb County.

One of the things that really got my attention was they said that the motels were working with the police (seemed kind of counter intuitive).

It would be nave to believe that they are only active for the occasional "big, newsworthy busts". Personally, there's nothing "special" about Macomb County for me to chance it.
