DETROIT -- The City Council on Friday authorized four strip clubs to transfer their topless entertainment permits to new buyers, signaling a change in the council's stance on adult entertainment. It's about time! Friday's four, 5-4 votes allowed Hot Tamales, Chocolate City, Crazy Horse and the Duchess Lounge to transfer their permits to new owners. If you wonder what changed their minds. The council approved a payout in June of $500,000 to the owners of downtown's Famous Door II -- now Bouzouki's II -- after the council denied the transfer in 2004. "They realize they are on shaky legal ground," said Brad Shafer, the Zoo Bar's attorney.Shafer's case is pending in U.S. District Court and, he says, it could cost millions. The new owners plan a Hustler strip club at the downtown location on Griswold. This is going to cost the tax payers more money to settle.

Just returned from a couple outings in Detroit. I have to say that I was very pleased with Bogart's. Nice looking babes, excellent mileage, and funny bartenders. The only downers are the dance area is public and on the same chairs that one might find in a library and the drinks are pricey.

Herny VIII also provides great mileage, but lots of variation on dancers. So, you have to wait to see if a babe shows up.

All the clubs you were at are actually in Inkster, not Detroit. You could try The Landing Strip in Romulus. I've heard great things can happen if you get the right girl.

If you're still around the area on Monday, go back to Henry The 8th's. It's $10 dances all day and all night. At least thats what it was like when I was there about 8 months ago. As always YMMV. In fact, according to the bartender, they've been open 37 years.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Tuesday that her office is attempting to close down four Detroit bars for various violations, including illegal gambling, fatal and non-fatal shootings, drug use, serving after hours and sales, simulated sex acts and bootlegged pornographic DVDs.

The bars are: Alpa’s Key Bar on State Fair; the Zoo Bar on Congress; the Sting Gentlemen’s Club on Michigan Avenue, and Club Le-Elegant on Plymouth Road.

I went to another strip club, all black, on Livernoise just nort of I94. It was just getting started around midnight and since I didn't plan on going there, I didn't bring the cash I needed to have a good time. I will say that it did not have the overwhelming cover charge and drink prices that other clubs seem to have around Detroit and the girls were pretty hot.

This sounds like the Sting. Wayne county has targeted this club for various
activities and wants to shut them down.
