Usually I will comment that I was sorry but thought the number was such and such but pay them for the extra songs (much like you did). However, I will definitely note the behaviour for future visits. If needed, it can be a good thing to periodically confirm with the girl the number of dances. Say something like, "wow, I've really enjoyed all FOUR of your dances so far. Let's do a few more." This can then let her know that at least you are keeping track of them with her. To be sure, I've never had a dancer get that far off after only 2 or 3 songs, though.

There is definitely a policy that the songs at the very end of the night are double the price (floor or VIP). They say this is because they are longer in length and meant for you to get more enjoyment out of them. Whenever I've been there that late I've found that the dancer will (should) tell you ahead of time this vital info. I've also heard them announce it from the DJ but could be missed if you're not really paying attention. Everyone has to make their own judgement as to the worth of paying the extra $$ but I've seldom seen any difference in the dances myself. In your case maybe you could've paid the higher rate but then stood firm on the number of dances (so in effect paying $20 each but for only the two you rec'd). Just depends on how much heat you would want to take and how much the extra $$ really means to you. Again, I would probably pay for it and then make a note of who to avoid in the future.

As for the bouncer...I could be way off base here but remember the bouncer works for the club and I'm assuming would side on whatever gets the club more money in the end. I'm not too sure how much the club is willing to bend over backwards to insure you come back again so they probably don't care a whole lot if you leave a bit irked.

I wonder how long it will take the shill for CS to respond to this report!!

    Shakedown at CS

I am very sad to report on a most unpleasant experience at the CS on Wed. night. I've been going there for a number of years and have never had anything like this sort of thing happen.

Uncharacteristically, I was there in the evening (I'm usually there in the daytime or afternoon). I showed up around 10 and ended up staying until last call. The dancers are more mercenary in the evenings, but basically everything was fine and enjoyable until the very end of the night at which point I spotted a dancer I'd been wanting to get dances from all night coming out of the VIP room. I asked if she was busy, she wasn't, and we ended up in the VIP together where I learned she literally just started working there. She said it was her second day at the CS and that she had been at TD's West previously. The dancer I'm talking about is a slim brunette (dang and blast I can't remember her stage name...).

The few dances I had with her were alright, but not spectacular by any means and I didn't want to continue after what I swear were only 2 songs. She said she thought it had been four songs, but ceded that it may have only been 3. Not wanting to create a scene I paid her for 3 songs and tried to leave.

She then told me that the final few dances of the evening are always $20, not $10. I'd never heard of such a thing and really felt like I was being hustled. Particularly since I'd already, out of a desire not to rock the boat, paid for a dance I'm darn sure I didn't get. I didn't want to give her any more dough but she was quite insistant. It ended up being a three way conversation including the bouncer. He verified her claim, and I paid the additional money.

Another wrinkle in all of this is that during the conversation with the bouncer she indicated that I'd been an innaproppriatly touchy customer. Now this is bullshit. Like I said earlier, I've been going to the CS for a number of years on a semi-regular basis (usually once a month but sometimes as much as 2 or 3 times a month) and I have it down to a science how to behave with unfamiliar dancers. I never push the envelope in terms of touching and take my cues from the dancer with regard to how much is acceptable. I even have a little speech I often use, and I definitely gave this particular dancer my speech. I say something to the effect of: "Please let me know what your ground rules are. I've had a lot of different experiences with a lot of different dancers and I don't wish to violate boundaries. What are yours"? She responded by saying: "Let's play it by ear and I'll let you know if you cross any". I thought this was pretty vague and decided to be conservative. The most I did was put my hands on her hips and squeeze her buttocks during the dances, in response to which she said nothing. Only during the conversation that included the bouncer did she mention that anything I'd done was innappropriate. Seems a bit self-serving to me. It was her word against mine though, and her word seemed to carry more weight.

In short, it was a shakedown in my opinion, pure and simple. And the bouncer seemed to be in on it. I'm dissappointed in that guy as I've always tipped the bouncers when I pay my VIP entrance fee and I've put a decent amount in his pocket over the years.

I'm definately never going to the CS again in the evening, which is when a more mercenary kind of place emerges from the laid back CS I love. And I'm ambivilant about ever going back at all.

Has anyone else experienced or witnessed anything like this? Is this part of some new trend? I'd love input from others.

    CS and Drinks

I haven't run into that of yet. Usually I order a water back with the beer (that I've never been charge for) and I've never heard of a 2 drink minimum. Hmm.. maybe they just think I'm cute?

On other fronts I did have a chance to stop by CS earlier. One of those days where I didn't have a whole lot of time to spend so I figured VIP wouldn't work. I did run across a sweetheart just after getting the beer who was just an angel. I've seen VIP dances that weren't as good as her floor dance. Well, let's just say that I helped out the economy as best I could with the time to spare. Next time we'll have to move to the VIP. That could have been *really* good!

    Strip club rant...

Forgive me but I needed to vent a little...

Was in CS on Monday afternoon and witnessed what I think is a complete shame. Was sitting watching the stage when a young hottie came by and stopped to talk to another customer nearby. She dropped what looked like a bill but didn't notice. Then she went into the dressing room. Another guy must have seen this as well as he jumps up and makes his way over towards the stage (like he's going to tip the dancer on stage) and casually picks up the bill. He takes a look at it and quickly puts it in his pocket. A few minutes later the dancer comes out and is clearly looking on the ground where's she's been (obviously looking for her bill). After she scours the area a little the guy that picked up her bill calls her over (I thought he was going to do the right thing and give it back to her). They start to chat and she tells him she's looking for a $20 that she just dropped. This guy doesn't say a word and just says he's sorry that she lost it! If I had it to do over I might have said something but I didn't want to get in the middle of things.

What would others do? Chalk it up to her fault for losing her money? I know if I had picked it up I would have given it back to her in a heartbeat. I thought about saying something while I tipped her on stage but I got distracted, lol.

Another thing that got to me that afternoon was the drinks. I don't know if CS has changed their policy, started enforcing a policy they've had, or the waitresses are trying to scam guys but Monday I tried to get a glass of water (which I've done often in the past). They bring me a bottle of water for $3.50 - ok, I'll take it this time. Later, another waitress comes around and asks if I want anything else? I say no and she says "it's a two drink minimum." This is after I've been there for over an hour - spent money in dances and VIP, etc. Now they are trying to force me to buy more drinks? What gives???? I know they make their money on drinks and such and I don't mind buying but I don't want to be forced to buy. Most of the waitresses also know that I tip them pretty good even if they just bring me a glass of water.

Anyway, end of today's rant... Maybe Amie can shed some light on things for me if she sees this.

Thanks for the feedback. I RTFF the Phx area, but I'll look some more. I'll have to see if I can change my flight or just scout the Phx area for street action. The clubs there seem lame! Thanks again.

Sunday afternoon about 4 p.m. is not the best time. First of all, Sundays are kinda laid back at the club. Second, 4 p.m. is right at the time the shifts are changing; daytime girls are leaving and evening girls are arriving. There is a period when few dancers are working when the shift change happens. They're all in the dressing room either getting dressed to leave or getting dressed to work. If you can wait through the changeover, you'll likely have some talent to pick from. I'm not very familiar with the dancers who work on Sunday evening so I can't make any specific recommendations. When I've been there at that time, there seems to be an inconsistent mix of dancers from week to week. If you can make it earlier in the day, I can make specific recommendations although the weekday dancers rarely show up on Sunday. Sunday is also a day when the club auditions potential new dancers so the action is rather restrained unless you find one who knows the ropes having worked there previously.

There is no cover charge during the day. I believe there is a $5 cover beginning at 6 p.m. The $5/$10 prices are the same on Sunday during the day.

As for the Phoenix area...I can't make any recommendations at this time. There seems to be a lack of comparable action in the Phx clubs. Perhaps check out the Phoenix boards for more details. Phoenix seems to have AMPs which aren't in Tucson. I'm not a big fan of them, so I can't comment on what's good in Phx. There is lots more street action in Phx than Tucson. Read the boards for more info.

I've RTFF. CS seems worth the drive. How is Sunday afternoon say around 4pm for newbies?

CS seems great for $5 table dances and $10 VIP. What is cover? Are the prices correct for Sunday?

Any advice (yes SH, I read your book, great job) for Phx or Tuscon area? Thanks for any feedback.

SH, I'd have to agree with your analysis of Carla. Stopped by and have seen her a couple times now. The only problem that I could detect is that she may well fall into that category of "one dance is too many, and a thousand may never be enough!"

    Naturally.. YMMV

(now if I can just some more extra work to make up for what I spent ..

Was going to go to Nogi for the afternoon but decided to hit CS. I was not disappointed. Two beers for the price of one, $5 table dances and $10 in the VIP. I had a rewarding dance in the VIP with Kynita (sp). Highly Recommended. I would do it again.

This is the best place I've been to for a long time. I'll be back.

    New Mgt.....

I tried one of the local clubs here and saw all the new changes. Dances may be cheaper now at 5 bucks at a whack but the girls are all upselling to the VIP area like crazy. I tried a couple at the table (yes they were circulating like I have never seen them Circulate before in that place.) but they were really not getting in close (with anyone) and not showing me anything that I may wish to upgrade to the vip area.

So I tried a few dances and decided that the upsell shit may not bring forth fruit so I gave up. YMMV; I'm sure but if it drives well on the street, you may want to get out on the highway with it. If it don't drive well, no highway.

    A recommendation and a surprise

Spent a pleasant afternoon at CS today and found Carla who is the latest Sexhobbyist recommendation. She was at TD West for 12 years (what a waste!) and left there because of a lack of money walking in the door. She landed at CS. I tried her in the VIP and had a nice experience. Enough said.

It was a surprise to see Desiree, formerly of Curves, working at CS. She's been out of dancing for about three years, but is back to earn some quick money for an upcoming project. She goes by a different name now because her former stage name is being used by someone else.

Amie, who is such a sweetheart, was sitting in my lap at a table discussing the big issues of the day (yeah, right) when she got all sultry and began this very sensual dance for me. I was appreciative because she can be soooooo sexy. She got my motor running and I needed someone to take care of me. She went and got this tall, thin dancer and brought her to me. Much to my surprise, it was Desiree, with whom I have a history. We headed up to the VIP for some "old times sake" memorable dances.

    Thanks Amie!
