Like the other poster said its a scam every time. Just a history, its called the green dot scam because it was a company called green dot that started pre paid cash credit cards. If you want to have some fun? Get one, use it the next time you are requested to get one show them you got one cover the last numbers with a finger when you take a photo of it, it pisses them off let you wouldn't believe.

Once you purchase gift cards — they will usually request gift cards from a specific retailer — you call back and read off your gift card numbers and PINs. They then uses this information to purchase items online with the gift cards you bought.

Show her the card without showing the numbers and see what her response is. Will guarantee you it's a no go.

I smell scam. I have 8-10 providers I rotate and see regularly, I usually try and meet a one or more new provider when I travel, and have been doing this for 10+ years and have never been asked for a gift card.

That all being said weve all seen prices try and creep up, SA become a thing (which wasn't when I first started), and things like Cashapp and Venmo being acceptable means of payment, so maybe there's a chance times are a changing.

Either way do your research and get the girl before you hand anything off.

If they want the card numbers before they see you, it's a scam. There can be a case made for a gift card if she waits until you pay her in person. She can upload the gift card to cashapp, venmo, etc. From there she can send money to her kids, pay a phone bill, etc.
