New Star, 9 VIP, Asian Doll House and 1023 Race are all really close to each other. If you Uber or train it to the convention center you can easily walk to all four. Thanks so much for the info. I had a co-worker / friend that visited a couple of months ago and went the Chinatown route. From his description and what I've read here he must have ended up at New Star and had a good experience. Maybe I'll do the same.

I always prefer to just do a walk-in. This way if you don't like what you see you can just as easily walk-out. Also you may want to Uber into Chinatown and check out all the spas there as well. You have a choice of many to check out and can just as easily Uber or walk to 9 VIP from there as well.
