I would suggest going later in the day or in the evening. Nothing like a nice O before bedtime. If you kept walking about 10 blocks north that is a bad area. I would recommend walking straight up 11th from Vine. It really isn't that bad. Plenty of cameras at the power station. Just be aware of what is happening around you. If something a block up looks not quite right then try to avoid it. You're still very close to CC in that area. ADH isn't as scary walking at night as VIP but if you're driving there are usually plenty of spots near by if you can parallel park.
