I saw Sharon again last night. Pretty late. She was returning from a shopping excursion. She shops the area around Tioga and when I saw her she was walking toward Sedgley between Venango and Tioga on Kensington. She waved hello. By the time she reached the underpass at Pacific even with all the obstacles SEPTA has there somebody stopped square in the middle of the street to grab her. SMH. After all the years I've known Sharon it amazes me how well she weathers the storm. She's always fresh and clean. Clothes get changed regularly. For the most part she she's rarely seen doing the Crackhead shuffle or the zombie boogie. If there is a pro on the strip I would put Sharon in the top five. That in itself is why she's so difficult to find. She's always busy either working or shopping. As for Kristen, I haven't seen her in a while either. Me, I'm just an 'OL Gator.

It was freezing and the wind was crazy last night so that might have had something to do with it. I rode thru early Friday night before the rain started and saw a couple girls but nothing really worth stopping for. Sedgeley was empty and Jasper and Buckius was kind of empty too.

There are stories written about reverse stings about 11 years ago. That would have been the 1st few years of the Seth Williams who was probably following in the hard nose ways of Lynne Abraham. By the end of his term he was involved in some legal issues of his own. We know the Larry Krasner has a different view of crime so he may be unlikely to pursue many prosecutions but if it becomes part of a plan to clean up Kensington don't be surprised if it happens. There may also be a willingness to use some other technologies and measures.

Looks like city leaders are trying to clean up Kensington. I am really doubtful anything meaningful can be done.

The drugs and homeless addicts are too ingrained in the culture. It is going to take a lot of money, time and resources to fix things.

Even the trash is a big problem and so ingrained into people's lifestyle that it is difficult to fix. People in Kensington just throw their trash in the streets. There aren't public trash cans for people to throw their trash even if they wanted to not litter. The residents of Kensington put out their trash on the streets in plastic bags each week. Some weeks the sanitation do not come and their trash sit out all week. Rats get into the bags and homeless also dig through trash bags. Trash just gets everywhere. Each morning an army of workers go and clean up the trash. It is pretty ridiculous how bad things have gotten and I don't see the current status quo to be sustainable in the long run.

A lot of the businesses in Kensington have closed down. Many existing businesses are loosely connected to some form of crime. Many businesses allow drugs to be sold inside. Pawn shops turn a blind eye towards stolen items, some even work directly with boosters. Many of the places that take food stamps participate in food stamp fraud.

A big part of the solution needs to be to change the mindset of the residents, but many people are too set in their ways. They can't and won't change and they teach their kids to do the same.

Maybe some might see those new expensive buildings might bring in a better gentrified crowd.

I think many cities embrace the idea of having some part of the city to be an unofficial cesspool. That way they are able to concentrate all the crap in one area and keep the nicer parts of town crap-free.

They also say "prostitution is the world oldest profession. " Not really sure how that fits into your special definition. Unless you are saying everyone but you is wrong.

I have heard from the SW that they are targeted. From what I hear, they tell me that they are given three strikes. The first two are just a slap on the wrist and the third comes with fines and jail time. But one SW I know had her time reduced because she is a guardian of some minor or something like that.

Personally, I see my actions as more of a charity than anything. Many of these SW are homeless and living in poverty. Church groups go out and give then food and clothing. I go out and give them a good bang and money. Winkwink.

About 10 years ago, there was some monger posting about a letter he received from the police but I don't think anything came about from it.

I've never been arrested and, fortunately, have had minimal interaction with the police. It's something I always worry about, phantom risk or not. If I wanted to make headlines, I'd bust a few mongers.
