What's happening on Kensington? The ave looks dead, went out twice at night between 11 and 3 AM. And with the exception by the area were everyone congregate. I couldn't believe how empty every where else was. Kind of glad though.

It was freezing and the wind was crazy last night so that might have had something to do with it. I rode thru early Friday night before the rain started and saw a couple girls but nothing really worth stopping for. Sedgeley was empty and Jasper and Buckius was kind of empty too.

Thanks for sharing. But Philly 25 years ago is not Philly now. It is hard for me to see anything like that happening today.

These days Philly cops are ordered not to pull people over for certain minor offenses.

These days it is even against the law for cops to put chalk on your tires because it is considered "unreasonable search" https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a2...-court-ruling/.

I've also heard some cops regularly pick up SW. Plenty of evidence of this going on all over the country with a YouTube search. Sometimes the cops are even in uniform and in their cop car.

Although I can see them cracking down more on Kensington SW mongering if things get much worse in terms of mongering-related violence. There was some talk about it in the south jersey forum.

There are stories written about reverse stings about 11 years ago. That would have been the 1st few years of the Seth Williams who was probably following in the hard nose ways of Lynne Abraham. By the end of his term he was involved in some legal issues of his own. We know the Larry Krasner has a different view of crime so he may be unlikely to pursue many prosecutions but if it becomes part of a plan to clean up Kensington don't be surprised if it happens. There may also be a willingness to use some other technologies and measures.

Looks like city leaders are trying to clean up Kensington. I am really doubtful anything meaningful can be done.

The drugs and homeless addicts are too ingrained in the culture. It is going to take a lot of money, time and resources to fix things.

Even the trash is a big problem and so ingrained into people's lifestyle that it is difficult to fix. People in Kensington just throw their trash in the streets. There aren't public trash cans for people to throw their trash even if they wanted to not litter. The residents of Kensington put out their trash on the streets in plastic bags each week. Some weeks the sanitation do not come and their trash sit out all week. Rats get into the bags and homeless also dig through trash bags. Trash just gets everywhere. Each morning an army of workers go and clean up the trash. It is pretty ridiculous how bad things have gotten and I don't see the current status quo to be sustainable in the long run.

A lot of the businesses in Kensington have closed down. Many existing businesses are loosely connected to some form of crime. Many businesses allow drugs to be sold inside. Pawn shops turn a blind eye towards stolen items, some even work directly with boosters. Many of the places that take food stamps participate in food stamp fraud.

A big part of the solution needs to be to change the mindset of the residents, but many people are too set in their ways. They can't and won't change and they teach their kids to do the same.

Maybe some might see those new expensive buildings might bring in a better gentrified crowd.

I think many cities embrace the idea of having some part of the city to be an unofficial cesspool. That way they are able to concentrate all the crap in one area and keep the nicer parts of town crap-free.

I "was" a working "professional" in the city until leaving a bit ago. One of my pet peeves in life is misuse of the word professional. A profession means licensed in a regulated occupation with an ethical duty to the public, specialized training / education, and an ethical code of conduct. But I digress.

One of my pet peeves are people who make up their own definitions to words and expects everyone else to know and follow their own made up definition.

I looked up many definitions of "profession" in many different sources. Many (but not all) mention "ethics" and "training / education" but none mention "licensed in a regulated occupation".

I'm not sure why you made a big stink about nothing.

They also say "prostitution is the world oldest profession. " Not really sure how that fits into your special definition. Unless you are saying everyone but you is wrong.

I have been mongering for many many years. During that time, I have been pulled over a few times. One time I was even parked and balls deep in a SW when a cop pulled up. In all those times, they checked my info and just let me go. My record is clean and everything with my car is up to date.

I have never heard of any monger being arrested in Philly. Mostly just rumors from unreliable sources. If anyone would like to share any personal arrest stories, I'd be glad to hear about it.

I am a working professional in the city. I imagine if a large number of people in my position were to be arrested, this would noticeably harm the economic output of the city. Furthermore, spending the legal resources to pursue these cases would also be a waste of time and resources.

I imagine it would also be more difficult to arrest mongers driving in cars because you would need a undercover female cop. Some mongers carry guns or other weapons which would create unnecessarily dangerous situations. And these days, working SW are pretty easy to spot compared to any hypothetical undercover female cop.

I have heard from the SW that they are targeted. From what I hear, they tell me that they are given three strikes. The first two are just a slap on the wrist and the third comes with fines and jail time. But one SW I know had her time reduced because she is a guardian of some minor or something like that.

Personally, I see my actions as more of a charity than anything. Many of these SW are homeless and living in poverty. Church groups go out and give then food and clothing. I go out and give them a good bang and money. Winkwink.

I got nabbed during a sting in 99-2000. I was pretty drunk and wasn't even really cruising to pick up anyone, was headed to a friends house. Kensington ave was blocked at Montgomery, forcing me to loop around the block and when I came around the second time there was this impossibly hot WSW standing on the corner with her tits popping out. I stopped to talk w her and BAM. Surrounded, hauled out of the ride, cuffed, and into a bus several blocks away with 20 other pissed off dudes. Had to wait till the filled the bus, maybe 2 more hours, was like 50 dudes total. 36 hours in the roundhouse, took a class on STD's and had a years probation. Got back to my car and it was left unlocked and was looted. Funniest part of the whole thing was these two dudes kept screaming at the undercover SW how bad they wanted to bone her in the ass and it was pissing all the cops off.

Looks like she is in a better place.

I've only had negative experiences with this one. One time I was plowing into her and I see her hands wandering around like tentacles trying to look for something to steal. I see her hand go into my pockets and try to steal something. I confront her about it and she plays dumb and acts innocent. Another time I pick her up and she changed up her look and back story but I knew it was her. This second time she had a huge belly the size of a basketball but she was hiding it over some baggy clothes.

She was always making up lies and trying to steal and con mongers rather than just providing good service.

But with all that said, it is unfortunate that she had to die a used up addict in kensington. It is a bad way to go. Rock bottom.

K Avenue is the Wild Wild West. People openly doing drugs directly into their veins, people shooting other people, bon fires burning pallets on the sidewalks and the new mayor thinks arrested a couple of misguided mongers is the solution?

I am hardly a public policy expert but if anyone wanted to tackle K Avenue, at least begin to take away the open air drug trade and force that off the sidewalks. That's an obvious fix that will alter public opinion. Of a list of 10 top problems on K Avenue, mongers don't even qualify.

You won't believe this.

Got a letter today from the Phila Police dept that they saw my vehicle at Cumberland and Kensington ave's. The driver or occupant engaged in a conversation with a 1. Known prostitute or and undercover officer posing as a prostitute.

Unless they are referring to me shanking my head when one crossed the road and waved .. no way did I respond while watching them bust a guy walking down the street --the windows were never open.

First time for that one. Thank god I get the mail.

Has anyone noticed any increased attention, more stings, or more enforcement on the ave? The new mayor seems to be focusing on quality of life issues first, and she's specifically mentioned Kensington a few times. I'd guess that there will be more actual policing of the area.

Whether we see any changes in the prosecution side with that the I'll leave unaddressed.

The pic with her smoking a cigarette was taken just a few days before she passed.

She's one of the many sad stories on the ave. Even sadder childhood. It's too bad that some people don't even get a fair start in life. She was born in the whole and never got a chance to dig herself out.

I've had many pound sessions. Pretty good times but my cock would bump up against her iud which was annoying.

I stopped seeing her after she cut my time short and blue balled me to talk to her bf in jail. I was driving her back and their conversation was so fucking annoying I couldn't stand her any more. Her boyfriend was calling her from jail and he thought it would be a good idea to tell her some stupid math joke. The whole time she is getting upset because she can't do any math and telling him to stop while her bf is not listening and failing to do the math joke correctly. SMH. I got blue balled for that shit?!

She was also living with some old black guy who was deathly afraid of covid so she got the covid shot because of him.
