Its called google voice. It is a good idea. But it might be traceable if leo wanted to trace- but atleast SW's and p's can't trace a picture.

Yea its a good idea. Tracing would require lots of cooperation from Google and they usually don't give into local LEO inquiries unless there's a warrant by the court. If you want more privacy, you can pick up and place calls from the web based Google Voice service.

Just got a reccomendation from a friend in IT. Google has free numbers that can be forwarded to a cell (or any other number). I think untracable and negates need to give out actual phone numbers. I haven't hit the track in a couple of months, trying to work on a few other things.

I use Google phone numbers for my discretionary calls. Cool thing is that the numbers can originate from anywhere around the country. The two I use are from CA and NV. If you have the Google Voice app on your Android phone, you can place calls from your phone and have the Caller I'd reflect your preferred Google number. Texting works well through that app and will not be billed against your allotment of text messages but it doesn't support MMS yet.

Looks like LE was all over the Ave tonight they had a mongor at the light going into the South Boston projects. I have seen this momgor all over the ave for a week. THere was nothing out there tonight.
