    Smilers Spa

Can't even imagine a girl "solicitation" at any of the HJ places unless they were asked for prices up front which would be entrapment. Most of the HJ places just do the deed and take the tip. Some girls will give the pouty face if they think they deserve more. I recently had a girl say 'you tip good' when I was trying to get under her shirt. When I said yes she never asked for a specific amount and took what I gave her.

Any girl that I ever saw at Smilers / NMS was gone the next day if she ever broke the rules like that. To have an undercover get the one girl that breaks the rules on the 1st time seeing a customer would be pretty amazing.

    Smilers

Interesting that LE said the neighbors complained, Smilers is in a very commercial area and most park on the street in front of the place so not sure what they mean by neighborhood issues. Councilman S seems a bit on the high horse being "proud" of LE for busting a single woman at a Spa, I would think he might be a bit more concerned with using the limited resources of Providence PD to work on real crime.

Not always. You could be questioned. I remember reading about the MA bust on the cape where they questioned some of the johns and then let them go. Personally I don't want to deal with the hassle so I may be done. Some of the wording in one of the recent articles about the pawtucket spa's makes me worry a little bit that they may be planning something. I think it was the last paragraph in the article where they talked about the authorities using "all available resources" to enforce the new regulations. I checked the old articles from the previous crackdown and they never quoted the authorities saying anything like that. My view is that if they are going to go out and hit the streets of providence during a noreaster to stop a handy it seems like the authorities are getting a little too excited and this time may be different. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the pawtucket coppers followed suit.

Of course. A little logic goes a long way. I always imagined it was months of watching a place and then they show up with Paddy Wagons. Too much TV. But thanks for that tidbit! I've never done anything but AMPs. Terrified of meeting someone I've never met at a hotel and such.

They can only really arrest people if they catch them in the act of attempting to sell (or buy) sex for money. That means one of the two people in the room needs to be a cop. So if they're busting a worker, there's not going to be a John. If they're busting Johns, there's not going to be a worker. And they do go after Johns, but it's usually in the form of a sting set up at a hotel somewhere.

It sounds like they gathered some of the other workers up for questioning, but it doesn't sound like any of them were arrested or charged.

Well, that's the whole argument that the government is using to go after sex work in general, such as harassing Backpage (and Craigslist before it), and all the other bullshit. But in this case it was a simple prostitution bust.

May be, but Smiler's is in Providence, not Pawtucket. And the relatively new mayor sounds like she's a little different from the city's past ones.

    Smilers.

Was thinking about hitting this place up last night. Settled (putting it lightly) for deb instead.

Seems like I made the right choice.
