I'm visiting Providence, so after reading all the reports, decided to try 1021.

Went there Monday around 3:30. I don't think they were busy at all. Mamasan called JoJo for me. It was ok experience. The TS at Smilers is definitely more private. I've never done much more than I would at 1021, but more could definitely happen. There is a glass opaque door that closes and gives definite privacy.
