Exactly! In the strip club heyday, that was one of the only options for nekkit woman entertainment. Anything other than that involved venturing into really bad neighborhoods and hoping you wouldn't be clocked, mugged, or propositioned by other men. There was no anonymity for sexual behaviors for which most of us wanted (and still do) complete anonymity. In addition to seeing any sort of deviate behaviors that turn you on by going through a click or two, you can anonymously use "dating" apps, SA, USA, P411, etc. Just look at how popular BP became. . . Literally hundreds of millions of users. In a world where there are few options, mongers will flock to those options. It's supply and demand. Demand is conceivably still the same, but the supply for sexual fun is through the roof.

Online options like online date dating sites, online porn, and commercial sex sites like BP have hurt the strip clubs. The strip clubs have done a poor job of reacting to the increased competition by trying to think of something they can offer no one else can. A strip club now probably looks about the same as the ones thirty years ago. There has been no evolution in the business with changing times. Most strip clubs don't even have a decent website that they update regularly. Sites like this one where guys can trade tips on the best clubs and girls and how to get better value should have increased strip club business but the clubs are so badly run that they lose more customers from their bad business practices than the additional business a site like this generates for them. One thing I do differ on is the common belief that strip clubs have always been in bad neighborhoods. I told a girl at Harem House that clubs would have more business if they were in a better neighborhood. She replied they have always been in bad neighborhoods because that is the only place they can locate. Harem House itself, though, wasn't always in a ghetto area. When it opened maybe 25 years ago it was in a working class area where people had money to spend. The same area supported a lot of restaurants. The area restaurants are all closed now and new restaurants have opened further out but Harem House hasn't closed and been replaced by a new strip club in the same place all the new restaurants are. I understand, though, that a 20 year old stripper wouldn't be aware of changes over a 25 year period that an old guy like me would know about.

I'd be surprised if those sociologists (19 year old strippers) are accurate on this one. Not sure that younger guys' libidos have given way to sitting around with thoughts of self determinism and Minecraft. My money's on the fact that with a couple of clicks, they can have guaranteed semi anonymous hookups through any of a number of dating sites. They can accomplish in a few messages back and forth what used to take us hours or mulitple nights at singles bars trying to somehow distinguish ourselves from the dozens of other horny drunks like ourselves.

I agree totally have been to a lot of clubs across the country and the girls say most of the younger guys are more interested in playing video games or are trying to find themselves than getting laid.

In the last ten years Sassy Kats, Club Zeus, Wild Cherry, Lenny's and now Club Venus closed. The worst club closes and then the second worst club becomes the new worst club and then it closes. The other major cause of the decline is a focus on short term profits. Rather than trying to get customers to come back, the club management and strippers try to think of various ways to squeeze a few more bucks out of them. For example, last Saturday I did lap dances with two girls at Brad's. After the dances, when I handed them what I owed them both of them said "give me more money". I think the tip should be up to the customer and I don't see why they would think I would come back if I'm being ordered around like that. Instead of my usual weekend strip club trip, my plan for tonight is to watch a couple of movies on tv at home while eating popcorn. I'm sure it will be a more pleasant Saturday night than the one last week.

I was a regular at Brad's for 20 years or more. I used to know most of the girls by name and they knew me. I quit going a couple of years ago for the exact reasons you state. I now hear they scan your license to get in. Not me they won't!

To me with scanning and the lack of interest by many of the dancers, it is now just a simple risk / reward case.

I would agree in Indy but Kokomo still has the hiphugger and that club is still definitely alive with $10 lap dances and quite a range of girls. What you get in the back definitely depends on the girl from mild to quite wild.

Pretty disappointing scene. Don't expect much. If you must, dancers is ok. Decent girls usually, non smoking, safe enough area.

Want to see how a stunning stripper is supposed to work a room. Go check out the very sexy, long legged Devin. She is the exact opposite of all the lazy strippers that get drunk with regulars and complain about not making any money. Or worse. The cell phone addicts. You're right that almost no one will notice the loss of Club Venus. I remember going to that location in the late 90's when it was called Strippers. (Inspired name.) I think I went once in the past 20 years.
