When I was married and me and the Mrs shared a joint account I had a separate HSA account she didn't pay any attention to. I paid all the bills. I would get cash out of the HSA. Risk of audit by interested parties was really low and I had legit medical bills paid with non HSA funds so it was just a reimbursement. Now I'm not married so I don't have to worry and my HSA is building up. Going to be fun times in retirement.
