If anything, this law will be partnered with the net neutrality ruling and the government will "encourage" internet providers to restrict access (best case) or track and give info to them (worst case) access to sites like this.

If it comes to that (ISP tracking) a non tracking VPN is going to be a monger's best friend.

Go after the big ones 1st then apply pressure to everyone else. Even if your server is located off shore you will come under pressure if your in the United States market places.

BECAUSE they couldn't do anything to the poker sites that were offshore (mostly Costa Rica) what they did was enact legislation that prohibited US banks or credit cards from transferring money to known poker sites.

They didn't go after the big ones, they cut the money off to all of them.

Skipthegames.com looks to be still operating, I thought they were affiliated with BP. Liveescortreviews.com is up, but they are affiliated with The Erotic Review, and solely an RSS feed from BP. But some of the ads there are not even advertisers anymore retired / moved on, but all have TER I'd #'s not suprised by that.

TER is not alone in responding to this threat to your First Amendment Rights: Craigslist has pulled all of its Personal Ads, Reddit has closed a number of Subreddits and sites such as ******** and Men4 RentNow have gone completely dark. Other websites have taken or are expected to take similar actions.

So will USA follow this same path, even though the servers are outside the US? This will be very interesting to watch and see how this all plays out. Just about the time this was getting a little boring BAM.

Surely one of those 9th circuit court Judges will get a case, and put a temporary injunction on this BS. The supreme court will ultimately have a say in that, or not?

Gents. Long-time lurker here. As you will see I have made very few posts and I understand that I have little place to ask for information as such. I have never met a Backpage lady or escort as it were, but have occasionally trolled Sully for entertainment over the years and I've appreciated the LEO updates on this site. That article said Backpage and "ALL AFFILIATED" websites were shut down. I didn't think ECCIE was affiliated, but they were hacked and shut down for awhile at one time, that is if my memory serves me correctly. I bet they are swamped with approving USA Classified ads right now. Columbus has received 5 new advertisers already, Helen Sasha Kat and Phoenix. I'd predict by Tuesday or Wednesday if they can keep up with the new submissions there will be 20 or more new ones than that, at least.

This appears to be bigger and a lot more coordinated than I thought at first. So many sites going down all at once, both really big ones and relatively obscure. I wonder if local authorities were given a heads up so they could plan and be ready for the additional SW traffic this would generate? There was a fairly large influx when BP first went sideways.
