Decided to talk a bottom of the barrel tour this snowy night.

First stop was Lucky at 9.

Dead, 2 drunk AA woman dancing and the bartender was complaining they had to close early because security didn't show up.

1/2 beer and left.

Lusty at 9:30.

2 woman size heifers working. Took a sip of a very skunky beer and bolted. I know these dive bars only get beer deliveries once a week and it shows in the summer time but don't store your beers next to the boiler.

OGD at 9:45.

No Bobbie (That doesn't matter to me) but the regular gang. Nursed my beer, chatted with some of the ladies and left.

Spot on here. There used to be a Russian door guy at the downtown Cleveland Gold Horse who I greeted and tipped when I stopped in. He got me a 30 minute private dance before the show with Gauge when she featured there. Likewise with a cute hostess at the Bedford Crazy horse. Her last day of work she grabbed my hand and took me upstairs for nearly an hour and she had never danced.

Damn, I would have done pretty much anything to get a private with Gauge back in the day.

I agree with Puun Hound about getting to know the bar maids. But the only thing I would caution about would be to know who the bar maids are. Connie being one of them. Some of them have their own issues and will guide you to their friends with the same issues. But there are some really good ones that can help you. For example we all know who the owner of G spot is. She's always been good about guiding me to the good ones. Treat them good and they will treat you good too.

I am older. I am a bigger guy. I spent time getting to know the barmaid. They have helped steer dancers my way and steer me away from one's with issues. Tip them well and chat them up it works.

Well, this is on me for not being clear. It's not the older / bigger guys that chat them up and get them in the back for a dance, it's the ones who sit there literally forever tying the whole thing up. It's like people who camp in the passing lane; Get going so the next guy can go. And I will agree with its worthless with these dancers to sit and wait for them to approach you, that's also on me. It's proven useless. That's something going forward I'll be switching up a bit.

I walk in, order my drink, see if there is anything I like and unless they are actively giving a dance I just get up and walk over and go, "I want dances. ".

It has never failed me, then I see how much I can get away with, fingering, grabbing tits etc and then gauge if she's worth trying to fuck in the back.

One time of hundreds some black dude goes, "I was talking to her!" And I said, "I just want some dances and don't care what you do with her after I'm done". He just shrugged and that was that.

Stop expecting some five star service from ****** and go get what you want.

I'll agree to this too. I'm well dressed and clean cut (because of my job) and have gotten ignored more times than not, even by women that know me. Many times they are on some old, fat guy or hanging with the d-boys. Just is what it is I guess. I've never really been hassled by anyone (other than an annoying dancer) at any of the bars. I'm not a late visitor generally, but I have been by late on occasion. I also don't look like someone who tolerates that kind of thing either.(and am prepared), so there's that.

So I'm a middle aged kinda nerdy looking black guy. From my observations I rarely see older white guys get hassled. I'll say this though these are dive bars and anytime it's gets later at night a random drunk guy could pick you to be their target bc of whatever reason. Most of my annoyances with other customers has been some drunk guy wanting to talk to me, an occasional guy pointing at me for no reason. I pretty much keep to myself and am only look to talk to the girls. There's a few guys I recognize from other bars that I might check in to see what the action is like that night. In my opinion the only later night spots that are worth it are lusty and ogd. Those are really the places guys are looking for dances and keeping to themselves. I don't generally go in gspot much after 8. By that time it's turning more into a nightclub and there aren't really dancers. Similarly lucky a certain point is mostly people drinking and partying. You might find some girls dancing until 10 or midnight. The thing that makes lucky worse is it's too tight and cramped. All the other places have room to move around so you don't accidentally bump someone and possibly make them mad.

There have been deaths at most of them, including OGD, Lusty's and Lucky. There have been actual murders (as in, more than one) at Lucky.

I've never been hassled at OGD or Lusty's, but I'm normally long gone by 8 p, if not 6 p.

I made the mistake of wandering into Lucky one time and WAS hassled in the parking lot. I'll never go back.

If you don't want that worry at all, stick to the clubs where you'll get zero action.

Which, incidentally, isn't even exactly a given. I somehow went BBFS at Christie's in Canton one time.

An addendum to what XmasBeagle said: they cater to old, fat and white OR young black drug boys. I don't know how many times I've sat at the bar with a pocket full of money and been ignored.

They're all pretty safe during day at night I'd limit visits to Gats, Peppermint hippo or Christy's but those place are more about getting numbers for future OTC activities not much in the club.

Going off what others have said about the old white men and young black drug dealer aesthetic, the reason why the girls flock is one maybe two things. Large discretionary income, either from social security, pension or selling drugs that gives you a lot of money to throw around. With old white men, from what dancers have told me and I have over heard, it's because they really just a nice, young, hot thing to talk to or they want limited extras in the back. The drug dealer has money to spend and drugs to give out so that is a given as well. As far as safety, these bars are located in south akron which has a lot of crime and like someone told me before they are neighborhood bars with dancers in them, which means whoever lives in the immediate area usually will come in. I have never had someone physically touch me, but there have been times I left just bc I didn't want to hear a lot of shit. Like someone else stated there have been shootings, fights and deaths at these bars, but it's not like it's an everyday occurrence but I am not surprised when it happens and they usually happen at night. Just mind your business, don't get too drunk and be aware of your surroundings, it's not a war zone but it's not sesame street either.
